To fully participate in the upcoming Banquet's Alliance Event you will need to be in your alliance for 14 days prior to the event's start date on December 20th. That means, stay in your alliance from December 6th onwards to enjoy all there is to offer in the Banquet event.

If you dupe a 6* is it the same amount of 7* shards as if you duped a 5*? But 7* costs more doesn’t it? Fun with math…

    Yes, it is the same amount of shards. The reasoning given behind it is because of the current availability of 6* shards. They are available at a rate that lower rarities never were. Because of the rate at which players are opening 6*, Kabam decided that they would increase the cost of the crystal to try to slow down the introduction of 7* ever so slightly. I am not saying I agree with this reasoning, just that this is what we were told. There are too many 6* shards in the game, so 7* cost more.
