Thronebreaker

ive tossed up learning the 6.4.6 grandmaster fight for close to a year (im not very skilled at this game) but feel the resources/units that im going to put into that fight outweigh the rewards. maybe im being cynical but the jump from cavalier to tb seems so minimal (especially when you look at the jump from tb to para) in terms of regular rewards from selectors and the likes. so my question for the community is; is it really worth spending big on units and resources for jumping to tb if im not likely to reach para for a long while?

Yes, because 7 and 8 story content is so good to play.

I'm going to say no, but not for the reasons you think. I don't think it is worth spending past the Grandmaster because the Grandmaster is one of the few very unique fights in this game that exercises a broad range of otherwise useful skills. In other words, spending past the Grandmaster a) cheats you out of a unique game experience, and if you aren't interested in unique game experiences why are you playing this game and b) when the game asks you to get more skilled, I always recommend listening. The game isn't going to get easier over time. There's no VIP lounge at the end of the game where after you get past the Last Fight you can sit back and relax while Kabam Miike peels you a grape and catalyst are sitting in a giant bowl to be taken. If you can't beat the Grandmaster and you don't want to learn how to beat the Grandmaster, then progress in the game is going to be hollow at best.

So no, don't spend to get past the Grandmaster. Take time to learn the fight, however long that takes, and build up roster to have a stronger team with which to face the Grandmaster, so that one day you'll have that notch on your belt, even if it takes a lot longer than some other players. Because one day when the game is gone and the Sun has burned to a cinder, do you want to say that you spend a ton of cash to get past a mobile game boss, or do you want to say you spent three years trying and one day you beat the ****.

    Its your choice.

You gotta learn the grandmaster fight, stockpile resources. Act 7 and 8 are pretty easy and it will help your account immensely

    Hard disagree on that.
Grandmaster is one of the worst fights in the game. Its super long, hard to chip away at, has some dependancy on AI cooperation and will generally punish and frustrate you. That goes doubly if you're not skilled at the game, as the OP states.
You get an Aegon or a Herc, some revives and some units and just get it over and done with.
You'll never look back and it does get easier.

okay thank you, im just sick of grinding through the whole act just to get to his fight, i wish there was a way to practice his fight outright so i can go in confident or atleast competent. my roster is definitely good enough to get through its just a matter of putting the right ones together for success. open to champ suggestions so ill leave these here

As others have mentioned, it's not an easy fight. Expect to get frustrated, maybe even out right angry. I know I did. I recommend finding a path that best suits your roster, you seem to have decent choices, & running that path until you get to boss itemless or at least only 1 or 2 items. From my limited experience, the grandmaster is about skill(obviously) but also a very rhythmic fight. Once I found said rhythm, in no way did it become easy, just more fluid. My last suggestion is, once committed, take your time. Get super aggro, go do something else for a couple hrs, even overnight, who cares? It's not a race. I don't remember a lot of the ins & outs of mcoc, but I'll never forget finally dropping the grandmaster. Good luck! Hope to see you post about becoming TB sometime soon
