Legends Celebration Crystal Expiration

Does anyone know when the Legends Celebration Crystals have to be opened by?

I have heard all of the below

1. That they expire when the event expires,
2. That they expire 6 days after they event ends
3. That they will just be in your inventory like normal crystals.

Does anyone know which is true, and can you point to Kabam saying so anywhere, I have looked but can't find it.

    I don't have a date offhand, but they said sometime in early September -- so no, don't hoard them you'll lose them.

    Tbh i would open them today if i were you, no need to risk losing so much great stuff just to hoard a bunch of crystals for an additional of 1-2 days...just not worth it
