I can't believe that this isn't satire. New Champs being released at the highest available rarity is a slap in the face? And then immediately saying that any unranked 6* are just going to sit and gather dust?
I don't care what anybody says, 6* Champs will still have relevance for a while. Mats to R2 7* aren't ridiculously common yet to where people will be able to rank them up right away, and they aren't introducing new Champs to the pool fast enough (admittedly they are releasing them faster than I thought). There is literally zero reason to stop working on 6* Champs yet.
Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way but I have an OG Ironman 6* R1 Sig60. Never ranked up cause he's a noodle with zero utility. But now Kabam introduces an OGIM buff and throw him out as a 7*...kinda a slap in the face since alot of us have the champ aready. 7* makes me still not wana waste resources to rank him up. Same goes for other 6* champs now available as 7*. Also I think it's bad all the new champs come out as 7*s. Reminds me alot of when 6*s were introduced. And I don't think Accention will matter since you can only accend R5 maxes champs. So now all the unranked and unused 6* will just sit there like all the 5*s. Just my thoughts on it.
I had to read this several times just to figure out what the point was. And it is so absurd I'm still not sure I got it correct.
Buffing OG Iron Man would have been fine if he had not been released as a 7*, but because he is released as a 7* that essentially means all other rarities are now worthless, so the 7* release makes the buff itself worthless.
And in fact every time they release a new champion by releasing them as 7* champs they are in effect creating the situation that the new champ is worthless to anyone who pulls it, except if they get them as a 7*, making the fact the champion exists as a 7* essentially more difficult to acquire a meaningful version of.
Do I actually have this right? Because that's ridiculous. And the one thing I can agree to, is that this does in fact remind me of when 6* champs came out. Because a lot of players completely lost their minds back then as well.
If they ever release 7* herc, doom, torch, nimrod, etc. would they also be a slap in the face to those who already ranked their 6* versions now?
Yes. Releasing or not releasing. They're both a slap in the face. C'mon bruh. Keep up. Everything even tangentially related to this game is a slap to the face, a money grab, and heralds the imminent death of the game.
No offense OP, but I want the time I read this back.
Jokes. For real though, the buff isn't specific to the 7* Champion. It's effective for all Rarities (not sure about the 1*). No Champ is actually devalued by releasing higher Rarities. I understand that seems to be the collective conscious with these things, but that's just not the case. No more so than pulling them both and even in those cases, I'm going to lean towards Awakened with Sig more than Unduped. The purpose of Ascension is to mitigate the very issue you're implying. To extend the usage of lower Rarities and make the transition easier.

Shall I agree to make him feel less lonely with his opinion lol
I never the seen the whole community rally around one thing so much. The solidarity is breathtaking.
We don't all agree on many things. But when we do it is certainly a sight to behold
For real. Not gonna lie….there were tears of pride from me today. Legit did the whole Kraglin scene at the end of GotG2 when Yondu gets the Ravavager send off.
Just going to add my voice to the disagrees, @SSGNick556 :
Linking buffs of classic champions to their release as seven-star champions was by far the best and most sustainable solution for all involved.
It is clear that buffs are time-consuming and resource-intensive.
The champions most in need of the most time-intensive redesigns are the classic champions that MCOC opened with, nine years ago.
People seek out MCOC in order to play with those champions: they're one of the main draws to the game
Reworks of these classic champions could help with the engagement of players, but as noted this costs a lot of time and resources.
One of Kabam's revenue streams is people buying deals to obtain 'new' champions.
Kabam seem to be (at least trying out) using the new existence of 7* champs and 7* Paragon crystals in order that Reworks of the classic champions become 'new' champions, and become at least partially self-financing.
Does this not seem a win for all sides? Better classic champions, and undertaking the reworks is less of a drain (maybe even a positive) for Kabam's resources.
Such a complaint is irrelevant. Since Kabam is not releasing a second champ for the month, they would lose out on crystal sales. However, releasing a 7* in paragon crystals causes people to still buy crystals for what is now a reworked champ instead of a brand new one. If Kabam did not do it this way, they would feel far less inclined to buff old champs as one of the two per month. Put another way: the more crystals that people buy to get 7* OG Iron Man, the more likely that we’ll see another OG champ buff in the near future.
