AW DEFENSE HELP PLEASE

I want to change some of my defenders and their placement... Currently we are in a war so I understand that my defenders and placement changes won't be changed until the next war...

With that being said, for my new defenders and placement, I also want to adjust my masteries to reflect on this new defense, so at what point do I need to make those mastery changes and place these defenders so that the changes will reflect in the next war?

Currently, whatever masteries are in place at the time Matchmaking begins (or up to the couple hours later that it takes to actually find your Match, not sure it's been confirmed exactly *which* of those 2 moments), will be the masteries given for your defenders for *THAT* war.

Each war, once matchmaking is done, you can then change them to suit your offense (or for arena grind, or whatever). And then put them back for defensive masteries before next war's matchmaking again..

So you're saying that I can't play the game until matchmaking ends? Because the content that I'm trying to get through doesn't require or use the masteries that I'm using in war

For instance, I like to run mystic dispersion for defense because I put up mystic defenders but if I'm trying to get through event quest which requires specific classes. Obviously I'm not going to use mystic dispersion for those quests
