FAM Node 24 AW

We are on the challenger map, and this guy is a bit annoying on this node. I’ve been using CGR with subdue tactic to help with the Vigor node that gives FAM Unblockable and regen anytime a buff is activated on my side, which would be any time dexterity is triggered.

CGR can get the job done, but when the FAM is sig 200 and R5 he stacks his armors way too fast and CGR can’t get his 5-hit combo off so that way I get my power gain. You also can’t end a combo with 5-hits when FAM has above 5 armors or else he will stun you. If he stuns you, then it’s GG because he will melt you with one combo into a special.

I’ve seen this fight in nearly every war so I assume other alliances are too. What is a better counter to this? I can’t imagine not using subdue here to help with the Vigor. Any suggestions from others running this? I’ve came close to getting him a few times, but user error has cost me.

Use a champion who can't gain buffs. Cosmic champions to counter that node is a bad idea since they all have buffs and either FAM or Viv on that node will go Unblockable for most of the fight.
Another good option is Rintrah.

My alliance places Viv in all 3 BG's on that node and she guarantees at least 3 kills per BG in every war. All our Viv's are R5 sig 200.

I know what you mean, but there are only a couple of champions in the game who don’t gain buffs. I’ve tried Cassie Lang, but she doesn’t do enough damage to get the job done.

I haven’t tried Titania yet, and S2099 didn’t work well either when we tried. The **** thing also is when FAM gains his own armors and you can’t throw 5-hit combos.

I will keep in mind the Viv Vision. I don’t think anyone has her at R5 on our rosters, but do you know what makes her such a good defender on that node?

She starts with 16 armor ups so starts glancing from the get go

Parry at the start of the fight. Back off, Don't charge the heavy yet, Let the magnetism apply, then do your usual parry heavy, don't charge heavies as the falling buffs may trigger buffet, Bait few specials. If you don't mind dealing with unblockable, then hulkling or Valk are some of the best counters because pierce removes his armors. I've noticed intercepting also works towards removing the armors.

In offseason I tried Tigra, Galan, CGR and a handful of others. Tigra works great, but the first hit of his sp1 is tricky to miss. Then I tried Mags.... Don't know why I didn't think about him before. But he is easily the best option.
