Is ascending 5* Quake worth?

Does the 20% Boost in Attack and HP affect the Aftershock Damage at all? If not ascending Quake is not worth imo

I mean, she's probably the only 5* worth ascending

You can only use T1 dust on 4/5*. So you're not wasting anything lol. There's separate T2 dust for 6-

Magik is another highly popular champ to ascend.
Fair. Honestly, I hardly see anyone talk about her anymore though, so I kinda forgot about her lol

I've never understood the Magik hype. I am not saying she's bad, just that I never understood why players clamored for her as a 6-star, and why Kabam never brought her out as a 6-star. Power lock is pretty amazing for cheesing, but that seems like something that is easy enough for Kabam to counter with a node like they do against Ronan.

Ronan is the only champ in the game that punishes the opponent for having buffs by stunning them, but there are several other characters besides Magik that will be affected by nodes that are meant to affect Magik or her abilities. Champs that are already underutilised and do things Magik does (Doc Oc, for instance) are inadvertently affected by these nodes too and this makes people want to use them lesser

Her signature ability, LIMBO, is top notch. Very useful.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Magik, but I can’t argue with her results. Hands down the best power control champ in the game. Some people can do similar power control, but not as well or efficiently as Magik. Psylocke can power control without buffs/debuffs but if the champ has a power gain mechanic/node it invalidates her. Doc Oc can power lock but requires more build up and is a little more stressful. Magik just fires her L2 to power steal and power lock and you can essentially keep it up forever with little stress. The main issue you run into are purify champs or tenacity.

The t2 dust can only be used on 6*. T1 dust can be used on 4* or 5*. So you’re not ascending a 5* at the expense of a 6*.
They would be wasting gold though!!

In all seriousness, I am glad ascension resources are separated as 4* 5*, and 6*, while also not being class-based.

I see your point, but that's never really stopped Kabam.

Case in point - Kabam wants to place a bunch of non-damaging debuffs on Skill champions in EQ, so that they can shrug them and gain fury. But, due to Willpower mastery, they don't want it to be a regen fest. So, they slap on a passive heal block. Problem solved from Kabam's point of view. But .... that negatively affects those champions that have regen inherent to their kit. From Kabam's POV, it doesn't matter since you should be using a Skill champion to benefit from the nodes.

Similarly, slapping on AAR immunity or evade countering nodes, to counter Quake, but that also negatively impacts other champions abilities too.

So Kabam doesn't really care about bystanders when they are designing their node composition.

There aren’t champs in the game that are immune to limbo damage. That stuff hurts. That, plus while in limbo if she takes damage she gets her health back once limbo is over. That’s a nice mechanic as well.

No-one is immune; but Energy Resistance can mitigate it a lot.

Bishop, Guardian (Awakened), War Machine and Yellowjacket have high enough Energy Resistance to largely ignore it unless it's a very powerful Magik boss or something.
