We thought we should give War another chance this week then this happened... any advice?

We have not run War in over a year. Folks just found it stressful. Some of my Alliance mates noticed the Solo Rewards and asked if we could give it another go. About 8 of us placed defenders in 1 BG. Some of us noticed an error when you exit (something about you placed at this one difficulty level but not these other 2.... I have no idea what this meant, we just want to run 1BG and difficulty levels are news to me).

Then after a day or two getting closer to Matchmaking phase, our Champs are no longer placed, and the map itself looks totally different now. It now has portals and did not when we placed.

Any background, explanation or help / advice you might have would be appreciated.

The map has changed and everyone’s defenders have been removed from the map.

@World Eater Thanks (also great name there). But what about the error "DEFENDERS NOT PLACED" Easy Map: Incomplete, then intermediate and Normal as well? Do we need to place 3 sets of defenders on 3 different levels to run 1 BG? I have not clue what this means.....

There have been a lot of changes to war in the past month and the latest has been a change to the war map.

For your incomplete error: There is a section at the bottom right of the map when you're placing defenders. It will allow you to swap between the levels. You have to have everyone set defenders on each of those levels.

And to clarify (re: your issue #1, started the prior off-season, when new Persistent Defenders system was implemented)
Those 3 different levels (bottom-right) are the 3 potential Tier Maps in which you might have a war.
Current Tier (middle icon/map)
+/- potential Tier Maps (icons to left/right) if you move up/down a Tier Map after some Wins/Losses, or if you are close to a boundary and happen to be matched against a team across that boundary and game puts you on “their” Tier Map for your War against them.
This is so you can place Persistent Defenders for any such war in the near term.
**note, you can place “different” defenders in each of the 3 Tier Map potentials, or even if same defenders they can be assigned to “different” nodes (since those Maps are different).

As for #2 issue (just began yesterday for todays 1st war of new off-season). Complete redesign of Maps. So Kabam basically removed all defender node placements on the maps. They are still assigned to the same BG, just acts like they haven’t been placed onto maps yet. Everyone has to go back in and place their defenders on the new-style of maps that have been redesigned.
