I HATE BATTLEGROUNDS

Over and over, I get matched against players with FAR better rosters than me. Whenever I have 6* and 5* versions of the same characters, I can only use the weaker (5*) characters. I bust my ass, do my best and lose 80+% of my matches no matter what I do. I feel like Kabam is setting me up to fail. I'll do it for this event BUT I HATE BATTLEGROUNDS!!!!!!!!

@DNA3000 I have 5* and 6* versions of Red Hulk, Thing, Doctor Doom and Warlock. The 6* versions are much more powerful but I am never given the option of selecting them. I am only allowed to use the weaker 5* versions. I have no idea if my opponents are subject to the same limitation, but it is incredibly frustrating that I can never use some of my strongest characters.

@acp1629 you need to put the 6* versions into your deck, you can't have the same champions of different rarities in your deck

To amplify what Pikolu is saying above, your champions are chosen from the deck you build. You have to pick which 30 champs show up in your deck. If you have a 5* and 6* version of a particular champ, you can only place one of them in your deck. If you have already placed the 5*, you will not be able to place the 6* - it will be greyed you. You need to remove the 5* version first, and then the option to place the 6* version will appear. This is something you are supposed to manage yourself, as you gain and rank up champions.

Building your deck, deciding which champs go into your deck and which ones you want to rank up to use in your deck is one of the most important parts of competing in Battlegrounds. It is a skill that everyone needs to learn, and a player that does this well can have a significant advantage over their competition, because the game matches players in the lower tiers by their strength of roster, not the strength of the champions they put in their decks. If you have a strong roster but accidentally put weak champs in your deck, you will get matched against other players that own similar strength champs, but they will be using their best and you won't. That will cause you to lose more matches than you would if you designed your deck better.

Yea, you just need to update your deck. You can't pick from Champs that you haven't selected in your deck. And you can only have 1 of each champion, so select your 6*, not your 5* versions.
