With the new wars persistent placement, how can I leave the battleground so another member can join in my place?

    go to Place Heroes, click New Team in bottom left corner, then select Leave Battlegroup

    Or also on the initial Place Heroes screen, showing the 3 BG's, you can click on JOIN on a DIFFERENT BG from where you currently have defenders.
    That will remove you from your current BG.
    Then, just DON'T proceed thru to actually joining that other BG.
