Alliance War and Battlegrounds start dates

I’m sure you guys at Kabam have a reason for everything you do, but I implore you to please consider changing your start dates for Battlegrounds and AW seasons to start and end on same days.

Recruiting is an absolute headache when the seasons overlap. You have players they want to join but have to wait for season to end or rewards to drop. You get players joining mid season and don’t have enough time to hit requirements or missed out on milestones because the rest of alliance already achieved them. This is not alliance friendly at all. With store upgrades as well as upgrades to AW and AQ a lot of players will be looking for alliances with multiple focuses. Having seasons start and end on same date just makes sense.

Not familiar with the workings of managing alliances but anything that makes the thankless job easier, gets my vote.

This affects players moving alliances as well. When the war season ends in the middle of the BG season, you could miss out of BG milestone rewards you didn’t contribute to because you had to wait for AW rewards to come in before moving. No matter how many points you put up after joining the alliance, you’ll never be able to claim the milestone that were obtained before you joined

I second this, would make things much easier as all on one date avoids another of clashes

Completely agree. Alliances want players to stay put for an entire AW season because a lot of planning goes into defender diversity, placement and attack coordination. The problem is if you leave after AW season, you are half contributing to battlegrounds in one alliance and half in another.

We currently have 3 very good players join us after AW season. The problem is that they reached GC before joining us and therefore their score for the alliance is 10k-30k while the rest of the alliance is sitting at 300k. We are unable to hit the higher milestones because we have kicked the poor performers and left with players who can't score as high in GC. It is also not right to turn players away who have already reached GC or ask players to wait a bit to play battlegrounds if they are planning on leaving an alliance.

Best solution is delay AW season. There are a lot of problems with persistent placement anyways and bring it back when battlegrounds also starts. Dont mind larger gaps between AW seasons too because persistent placement has made it one continuous attack day.

This has been requested at least 3 seasons ago. They might do it in time for BG session 18 at this rate. It makes sense.

@Soham9 this won't happen as this then will have players taking breaks which may turn into long ones so they keep days diff to engage us and ensure we don't quit

The problem is there is an echelon of players who can't stay without BGs for 2 weeks.
    therein lies the issue.
Bg gap between seasons is 1 week, war is 2 weeks.

    It definitely should be syncronized.

My suggestion would be not to shut down Battlegrounds. Leave the mode open to friendly matches BUT let solo objectives still run (coz we need some carrot or there's no point).

Then start the real season together with AW season. For sure would make recruiting much easier than it's been for a year now.

Some of you might remember the days when hot dogs were sold in packages of 8 and buns only in 6.
