AQ Changes are awesome but

Isn't taht refering to the raids that are going to replace the 5th day of AQ?

Raids don't replace the 5th day of AQ, raids replace the whole week of AQ. You can choose to run 4 days of AQ, or 1 week of raid for each Battlegroup. I'm personally excited to see it because it sounds less boring than running the same map 4 times a week for years.

I believe also that when Raids launch there will be a special week during the AQ season when Raids will be open, because there was some mention of map rewards for all maps being boosted during Raid week if your alliance battlegroup doesn't actually participate in raids. You'll still get somewhat more rewards during that week even if you just do a conventional map. So it is a culmination thing, not an every week thing.
