Clarification AW tiers

Right now, if an Alliance will finish 300-800 would finish in Platinum 4.
Now if you would end =500, you would be p5. +701 P4. Up to now that would be P4
The cut for P3 remains the same, fist 300.

I've been watching YT and everyone is looking at this like a positive change, and I don't get it. The only ones that would have any improvement would be 800-900 that before would be Gold 1 and now they will be Platinum 6.

P4 was before 500 Allys, now is only 200, and 300 will be downgraded, and the cut to p3 is exactly the same as before.

Agreed. As someone who has been in alliances that float from the "top of P4" through P2 for the past couple years... I will say that the general skill/difficulty of your average war is nearly the same. The main difference in whether your alliance gets 800th or 200th is really whether your alliance as a whole can get on a sustained win streak and drive up your AW rating to get into T3 and eventually T2 wars... but the constant ebb and flow of people going in and out (including people realizing the best way to advance up a tier or two is to switch alliances) makes such a rating meaningless since it I really isn't the same alliance (see shelling and other fun things about the system).

Furthermore those at the top are SOOOO far ahead, that they could literally lose 10 wars in a row and stay in plat 1 (thus... shell further enabling shelling).

Kabam realized this about 4 years ago and do some point flattening to "shorten the gaps, and give alliances a chance again".... I would say we are due for another round of that.

Additionally, and more to OP's point... the rewards for those at the top and bottom of the current P3... will/would have some alliances getting more, and some getting less in the new system. It certainly creates more of a reason to not realize you are in the middle of the bucket / last war doesn't "really matter" to shrink the sizes of the buckets, but to tout that all alliances in this targeted range would benefit is misleading, and its fairer to say that the "next carrot now isn't so far away to move up" than to say your "current carrot is tastier/bigger".

That said, I do like the additional brackets/breakdowns... I wish it was just presented better. Further, I'd really like it if there was a better way to advance other than to either have to go 11-1 in a season or to switch alliances... and while that is technically true I guess... It won't be easier to advance from say 800th to 299th... you will just get small incremental increases on your journey.

How I see there isn't a better way to progress, in quite the contrary there are more ways to downfall from p4, or gold 1 and I don't understand why so many Youtubers where celebrating it as pro player move.

It seems to me that you won't progress, on the contrary, cut from P4 to P3 is the same as before, 300, but now you can downfall from p4 if you don't finish 500, before was 800.... so yeah great movement

Rewards would be slightly better depending on whether you finish P4-P5. But I honestly don't see as making really any difference or impact and I definitely would not sell it as "good for the community" unless you work for Kabam Marketing department, and then I understand it, that's your job.

Plat 6 is the new plat 4. You have to change your perspective to that.

My alliance has been T4 for as long as I can remember. If we do well in a season and go 8-4, we finish Plat 4. If we do relatively poorly and go 4-8, we finish Plat 4. So long as we don't do so poorly that we fall out of T4, there's virtually no chance we finish outside of Plat 4.

My take on this is that they're trying to make winning and losing feel more meaningful for alliances like mine. If we do well in a war season, we'll still finish Plat 4, but if we do poorly, we could fall to Plat 5. That gives us some incentive to try and do well during the season and not just phone it in for the last 2-3 wars.

I get it now. And I appreciate the answers. I didn't read the forum and just watched YT on the back ground. Sounded like an improvement and seemed that you would be able to progress further, but it is really the other way around. You can only fall from where you were before or at the best keep it where you where.

Rewards are slightly better, but that happens regularly

I really thought I did not understand it correctly in the first time and your answers helped, so again I appreciate them.

    Thanks!!!
