why cant we use google play cards to make purchases in the new summoner market. very frustrating.

The point of Kabam offering a Web Store alternative to in-game Google PlayStore purchase method is to avoid having to pay Google a 15% to 30% cut of the purchase.

So Google is not likely to allow Google Play cards to be used in such a self-defeating way.

The same reason you can't use Google Play cards to buy things from Amazon. Google is the only company that accepts Google Play cards, because they are their cards. You can't use them to buy stuff from the Apple store either, and neither can you buy things from the Google Play store with Apple gift cards.

When you buy things from the in-game store, you are not buying things from Kabam directly. Google is the actual store that you buy things from when you buy in-app purchases on an Android device, and similarly when you buy things from in-app purchase on an iOS device you are buying them from Apple itself as the seller. Apple and Google are like Amazon. Amazon doesn't supply the product, they just are the middle man operating the store. Kabam doesn't sell directly, they sell through Apple or Google.

The web store is operated by a third party company, xsolla. They cannot accept Apple or Google Play cards any more than Apple can accept Google Play cards or Google can accept Apple cards. Xsolla can only accept what they have agreements to accept, and most of those payment methods ultimately boil down to credit charges or cash. And Kabam has no influence on any of this, because they have no control over who can use Apple or Google gift cards.
