What are some unexpected counters to hard defenders?

So I was testing some stuff today and realised that buffed Luke Cage is actually a great counter to Killmonger. But how?

Luke Cage’s exhaustions can reverse Killmonger’s power gain he gets from debuffs, Sunder reduces Killmonger’s crit resistance to zero. You do need to play around reverb but Luke’s concussion can shut it down almost entirely

What about some other matchups you may not expect? Another is Photon vs Onslaught

Magneto against Maestro, one sp3 with 30 plus powress and he just melts. I didn't realize that the playable Maestro was metal till I had no choice but to use him against Maestro in BG.

Yeah he’s metal unlike the Act 4 Maestro for some reason

    Mojo against thing.

Damn why didn't I think of that, it's seems so obvious

I’m actually not even kidding about the Sersi thing. She’s pretty much good for everything in battlegrounds

I’ve taken a ton of meta relevant defenders with her in under 40 seconds even with bad crit rng (Onslaught, Bishop) and a crit on the last hit pretty much guarantees a 30 second ko on most champs. Haven’t tried her against Photon yet but I’m sure she can cook her too. Her glancing + regen is a lifesaver, I’ve taken full combos from champs and just bounced back to near full health

Not only mojo, any neutralize champs completely bakes him. Wiccan is my fav, after 15 stacks he can't activate unstoppable if neutralized, so it's just free incen/ruptures if you use tigra, wiccan or rintrah

She’s also a bullseye counter as well.

Believe it or not, Kingpin against Apoc. Kingpin's purify shut down means he can ramp infinitely.

And at the same time Apoc is a really good Kingpin counter because of that and he can inflict his debuffs as well

Wait, I thought Maestro could glance the heavies from Magneto eventually

Red Guardian for FAM, you're doing one hit heavy hits during most of the fight so once the first nano armor is gone you almost never have to worry about them and you can easily take him down in under 40 secs.

Ham is also a great FAM counter as well. Youre gonna launch very few hits with ham, so fewer chances to trigger Nano Armor buffs, and Power stings deal direct damage, ignoring armor nd resistances

When you launch a sp3, don't hit Maestro first. That's with any champ against a glancing mechanic champ like Maestro, use specials without hitting them to avoid glancing on specials.

He does eventually glace them, so the trick is to throw as many heavies as you possibly can before the glancing kicks in. After that you just build upto sp3 , heavy charge to multiply prowess and launch. The damage from the sp3 and the shrapnel bleeds should finish him off. But if it doesn't...well you're just unlucky.

Not sure if this is a popular option or not, but Adam Warlock works wonders against Bishop. I recommend using the sp3 rotation because you can reach your sovereignty either when you are close to it or after you have launched it. With the big fury and you being incinerate immune, Bishop becomes a punching bag. You can also activate his pod if any of his specials become unblockable. My 6* r3 has been putting in work. If anything, you can activate your sovereignty early and work from there.

How does Photon counter Onslaught? My r4 ascended is itching for battle.
