New Valiants - What are you buying with your Poolies?

With the release of 8.4, the game was flooded with a bunch of new Valiant players, myself included.
So I ask those other new Valiants, the ones sitting on 2x R3s but still on the lower end of most resources, what are you targetting with your Poolies?
Initially I was 100% targetting the T4A and Titan Shards - I've got Onslaught sitting at R2 and figure he's itching to become R3. But now I'm wondering, is that really going to make much of a difference? Maybe I'm better off expanding my 7* roster (hopefully) and getting more T2s instead...?
