Battlegrounds scoring scheme.

I would like to clarify a doubt.
In my alliance, a guy was banned from the game for playing bg, win two battles and then losing on purpose using only energy to not climb the rank.
I would like to know if this violates the terms or can I earn points this way without future problems.

    Kabam clarified many seasons ago that points farming is a bannable offense
