Finished the SoS and can pick from any of the following from my Nexus reward. Hoped for Doom but oh well. I do have a Mystic awakening gem and a bunch of sig stones.
America Chavez is pretty amazing. She has a different playstyle to many other mystics, instead of draining/burning power she somewhat controls it, and instead of nullifying buffs she does more damage for each buff the opponent has (same as Werewolf). Her ability to chain a combo into a heavy is also sweet and there are a lot of tricks to getting the most out of her kit (like using a striker to cancel out of her heavy at the right time rather than relying on specials).
Werewolf is also amazing and has other utilities (like ready access to ruptures that almost nobody is immune to) and easy access to power gain. I could have voted for him just as easily as America - 1a and 1b IMO.
Wiccan is the next best - in the right match-up he's without peer, but those match-ups are generally few and far between and come up less and less - nodes are now constantly saying that Ability Accuracy cannot be reduced which completely neuters him. He's still a great Serpent counter though - I didn't appreciate that until I used him in War and the Serpent mini-boss was one of my easiest fights that war.
Rintrah is also great, although he's much more defensively oriented than the others.

This is super helpful. My ally mates are saying Rintrah or Chavez. Doom was who I really wanted, and with 10 tries I thought it would be a given...but of course Kabam...
So I ended up with Rintrah - mainly because the other 3 are in the 7* pool, and Rintrah is not. Thanks!
Fair enough - that future proofing is a strong factor. Rintrah still has strong offensive potential, but you need to be aggressive to keep the Neutralise up.
