I completed AW, but the champion is locked.

I can't enter the raid.

    Is he on DEFENSE ?

    Persistent Defenders means they are permanently in AW Defense (even inbetween wars), unless you manually remove them from defense.

    @SummonerNR I thought that when I completed AW, I could use it elsewhere, but wasn't that the case?

    Remove them from defense. Join raids. Then you can immediately put the champ back on defense.

    If your alliance does NOT do “Persistent Defenders”, then yes.

    But that means everyone will have to re-setup their Defense before the next war, EVERY time.
    Which is not really feasible anymore, because there is no 1 day defense setup before 1 day attack anymore. Defense for next war would have to be setup during current war.
