This is the part I'm struggling with given the resource cost of ranking up a 7* to rank 2.
It takes 4 x T6C, 7 x T6B, 7 x T3A and 4 x T5C. Let's look at the costs involved as everyone keeps saying that BG store and Glory store represent better value for these items.
BG Store first.
4 x T6C would cost a Valiant 38,400 trophy tokens to purchase 12 x 25% T6C frag selectors (and you'd have to wait for a couple of refreshes).
7 x T6B and 7 x T3A cost 14,000 trophy tokens each, or 28,000 combined.
4 x T5C cost 5,000 trophy tokens.
So the total trophy tokens needed to rank up a single 7* to rank 2 is 71,400.
Glory store next.
4 x T5C are 2,580 glory. 7 x T6B would be 4,050 glory. 7 x T3A would also be 4,050 glory. 4 x T6C would cost 25,200 glory (10 x 5% selectors and you've have to wait a full month for the refreshes).
So the total glory needed to rank uo a single 7* to rank 2 is 35,880.
This all seems quite high but I imagine that it gets worse because, allegedly, most valiants who comment on this say that they're only buying T4A with these 2 currencies. Pray tell, how are they doing that and ending up with the above catalysts in over flow if they're relying on BG and Glory store alone?
Someone also mentioned daily super event- again going with Valiant, how many days does it take to acquire the resources just to rank 2 a 7*? More than I can be bothered to work out right now!!!
Personally, and this is my opinion only, I am over the moon to have so many T6B and T3A in overflow- for full discretion, it's 30 of each, and as I have at least 13 7* I want to rank 2 right now, it's still not enough!
But everyone's entitled to their own view on what's considered good or not.
You forgot that players can combine multiple of these options you listed like the BG store, glory store, daily super event, daily valiant crystal, free track etc. to get the needed resources. Saying it costs 71,400 BG tokens (or your equivalent glory tokens) to r2 a 7* star is naïve fallacy because it doesn't account for all the other free possibilities to get the needed resources.
I’m sorry but you cannot seriously be including daily valiant crystal as any kind of guarantee given the rng nature? Sure you might get lucky, but then again you might not. As for free track events, I recommend you go and look at what quantities are available, which you can only get every 7 days. Plus how often do we actually get track events? I’ll give you that it’s a case of multiple “locations” to get a total but let’s just go back to my example, I have at least 13 7* that I’d like to rank 2- where do you propose that I obtain the necessary catalysts before we even factor in the various rank 3’s that I could do? Story is available every 6 months, EQ is a massive grind which I can’t be bothered with. Ditto BG’s- I’m happy with clearing objectives every 2 days without grinding. All this obviously limits the currencies I have available but as I already said in my previous post- mine is a personal opinion based on my personal situation but it also shows what’s possible.
The numbers I stated are the costs from a single avenue but having seen those costs, anyone can see the grind that is needed to maintain the rank ups consistently.
I remember doing boycotts years ago for this game. Something really needs to change for the players.
