Leading up to the release of the next progression level, they are probably going to slow down the rewards overall for the current highest progression level. Because if they continue to give really good rewards to Valiant, there will be less motivation to push to the higher progression level when it comes out, unless the rewards for that next progression level are proportionally higher to that of Valiant. Exponentially increasing rewards at all times might push the game forward too fast.
For me this game has never been a marathon with a consistent pace throughout. It has always felt that there are sprints every 1-2 years where my account leaps forward, likely as a result of how the company evolves the game, its content, and its economy.

I feel like this game has always progressed really fast. I think it would be a little better if they got their pace right. Plus isn’t what you’re talking about basically what they do with paragon?
