If someone spends 100k on a mobile game, it's still a mobile game. The game could literally shut down tomorrow and there isn't anything anyone could do.

Context matters. Personally, I don’t generally say “it’s just a mobile game” because people are free to be passionate about whatever they want to be passionate about. If you want to spend on the game, that’s your prerogative. If you want to play, grind, run alliances, make YouTube videos, whatever, if that’s what you want to do, if it gives you pleasure or a sense of accomplishment or whatever, why not.
But if you actually believe everything is bad, the game is always broken, the developers are always ignoring the players, the company is a greedy fraudulent enterprise, then the question is: why not just walk away. The players passionate about the game and like it have a reason to stay. But there is no reason to stay and continue to play a game you think is unplayable and getting worse. There’s no reason to stay and support a company you think has absolutely no interest in ever delivering a reasonable product for you to interact with. There is no reason to hold out hope that a bunch of criminal sociopaths will one day wake up and see the light.
If you like the game, and want to pour your time and money into it, and make it something you invest yourself into, then it is more than a game. But if you hate the game and its developers and its operating company, than it is less than just a game and sticking around just to continue to complain about it is nonsensical, except insofar as you enjoy spreading misery.
I say this and someone is probably just itching to post about how I am trying to silence critics. Valid criticism is never something I denigrate. I encourage it, and I even help facilitate it. But anyone who thinks anything I’ve said is a knock on valid criticism simply doesn’t have any idea what valid criticism is.
The bottom line is, this is just a mobile game. But that doesn’t mean it is nothing. What it means is, it is a container that only contains what we put into it. There’s nothing there that we didn’t put there. We decide if it is going to be something we want to engage with, participate in, make a part of our lives. If you do, then it means something more. If you don’t, then it doesn’t, and then you should be asking why bother.
