Champion 6.2.6 Is Impossible to Beat For My Account

BeyondorBeyondor Member Posts: 4
Hello all, I’m a long time player of MCOC since the days when 4* champs were the highest champs in the game. Initially I was progressing well completing all my previous chapters with 100%. However, when chapter six was added and onwards, all these stupid nuances were added to the game that make it almost impossible for me to progress further. I’ve been stuck on 6.2.6 trying to beat the Champion boss forever it seems. Here is my video proof. https://youtu.be/RmRMYe5l7DY?feature=shared. In that video, I had the champion at 10% and used a SP3 on him four different times yet he still takes no damage at all from my most powerful attack. This is simply not fair. That champ needs to nerf’d by Kabaam. To make matters worse, I could not even beat him with my 7* Wearwolf By Night. I have watched numerous videos from other players on how to beat the 6.2.6 Champion. However, I haven’t had any success.

When he is 10% you have to dex his specials to remove indestructible charges of him. I believe after 2nd nerf, you need 3 charges. Once you have successfully evaded/Dex'ed his specials upto 3 times, you will be able to finish him off by your special.

Watch Jason Varghese, UKM, Mcoc Noob, KT1, Lags etc etc for more and effective ways to dodge his specials in last phase. Hope that helps

How come in the “Training Grounds” section of the game there is a tutorial that teaches you how to “parry” effectively but not how to “dex”:effectively? I know now to parry as you saw from my video but It seems I don’t know how to “dex” effectively otherwise I’d beat the champion in 6.2.6. Kabaam needs to update its in-game tutorial.

    Read the nodes
From that point on you have to read the nodes on the defenders, trying to smash your way through won’t get you anywhere

You got this, you just got to approach it with planning and practice. Watch a YouTube video of the fight, preferably with narration. As the fight plays out, try to copy the moves with your thumbs or whatever you play with. Develop the muscle memory for dexing by practicing against Champion in your roster.

It's probably not that you don't know how to dex. The issue is getting dex to trigger on his SPs. You can be close to an opponent and back away without dexterity triggering.

If I remember correctly there is something about dex doesn't trigger on the 1st hit of his SP1. So you have to either block the first hit of his SP1 and then dex the 2nd hit or be away from him when his SP1 triggers, dash in, then dex the 2nd hit. Or you can push him to SP2 which you can getvdex to trigger when you dex the first hit. Another option is I use someone like Hood who can be invisible allowing you to stand next to him when SP triggers allowing for you to wait longer on drying and it triggering.

Though asking for a nerf on this fight makes me feel like this is an absolute troll post, let's dive in anyway.

Couple things you need to stop or start doing.
Stop throwing heavies into the block. As you can tell, you're not going to win any fight doing that.
Throw longer combos. There's no reason to be throwing MH only. Longer combos builds more power and Doom's entire kit is built around power.
Watch some videos on how to bait specials. There's a couple out there. Constantly trying to intercept or throwing heavies into the block when you're opponent has power isn't always going to be helpful, as you can tell.
Finally, watch some more videos on how this fight works. As was already mentioned above, you need to dex (essentially a perfectly timed dodge from a close distance) the hits of his special. Each hit you successfully dex will remove one of his charges. While this info would've been in The Champion's kit and in any of those videos you say you watched, there are probably some videos that focus on that part a bit better.

This is absolutely a skill issue and not a fight issue. And it's okay that it's a skill issue as you've really only had two or three relatively tough fights leading up to this and unlike this fight you can just revive and bully your way through them. The game begins to get vastly more complicated as you progress, so you're ultimately going to have to learn how to play better and start reading nodes and kits.

Imagine getting to 6.2.6 and not reading nodes.

Bro is doing "block hold into intercepts" flawlessly 😳

Yet can't figure out the dex part, ahh man, search for mcocNoob on YouTube, he explains all the weaknesses of boss fights very simply.

Yeah OP I don’t know what to tell you. This fight is a shell of what it used to be, and if you’ve been playing for this long, and don’t read nodes, know how to properly combo with doom, or Dex the specials, you might be completely cooked. This is a big time skill issue.

Watch MCOC Noob. He explains things clearly

Forget about the champion fight, why are you randomly throwing heavy into block? You got smacked in the face nearly every time you tried it but you still kept doing it

An easy way to get in the dex with Doom is to just take the first flurry of SP1 hits to the block, then he pauses for the last big hit - as the final hit comes down you dex. 3 of those and you're all good.

This fight has been nerfed multiple times, so Doom can easily take the block damage

I noticed something while watching your gameplay. You keep hitting his block and then holding heavy. It's part of why you take so much damage. You get caught still in the heavy animation and either get comboed or the Champion hits you with a Special Attack. You might want to consider doing less Heavy Attacks and use them only when you're sure you won't get hit while charging and will land the attack. You also want to make sure not to push him to 3 Bars of Power. If he gets close to that, back off and try to get him to use his Special Attack.

In order to finish the Champion off, you need to use the Dexterity Mastery to dodge his Special Attacks until there are no more Indestructible charges (the orange icon with the hammer). For this last phase, you just need to do it three times.

OP, do you have the dexterity mastery unlocked
  • BeyondorBeyondor Member Posts: 4
:/ Yes, the dex mastery is unlocked Hernal_Taxman. I think it’s a muscle memory thing that I need to master with dex timing. I’m an older player and my reflexes may not be like some of you young people. When I say old, I mean 50’s plus old. Yes, we old folk like to play video games to but perhaps age, vision and slow reaction times are starting to afflict me now. Thanks for the input for those of you trying to help. For the “critics” -eye roll-

I'm sorry to say this, but if you can't reliably dex, then you won't be able to defeat the grandmaster or any other boss. Bosses like the Grandmaster require you to dex the specials, otherwise you will die very quickly. Learning how to dex properly is vital for this game.

Bro, you can write a post, upload a video, share it here and yet can't read his description? Wth?

You need basic English reading capability to play this game

Every boss has a long list of abilities

It’s been a while since I beat him. Do you still have to run in during his special to make sure it’s registers dexterity on his final head hit
