Respect to the Veteran Players

So I've only been playing this game for about a year, but going back and exploring some of the old content for fun, it's pretty obvious to me how hard the veteran players had it.
Whether it was Act 6 or the everest content at the time or even the stuff in the back issues. Sure, I can roll through them in my sleep now using 7s and high 6s, but I've checked what ranks were available at the time, and that content must've been nearly impossible with the limited resources y'all were given. I don't think I would've been able to do it, and probably would've quit out of frustration.

And if we compare like EoP now with 7R2s and 7R3s and ascended 6s, it's pretty much child's play compared to fighting the old content with the low ranks you were given.

I remember beating The Champion with a 5r3 Sym Supreme and I still had it easier than many.

Modern player: "Huh? I just used 7R4 Kushala I bought from the unit store and smoked him. You must've sucked back then if you had trouble..."
Remember the og champion had 20k attack and 500k health. One hit on block with 5* r4 and below is enough to die. Not to mention there's a no retreat node and you have to dex his specials 5 time son last phase.
And no, the 5 deres DID NOT carry over from one fight to the next. It's reset each time

Yeah that too, you can't really revive spam like ares.

Learnt it the hard way after spending 3k units in, twice (A total of 5k units and 3 unsuccessful attempts before finally defeating him after the initial nerf (3 charges)).

Ares is a joke compared to this guy.

And did I talk about abyss collector who OG players have to defeat with a 5* Aegon? Pure revive spam until death, and last 10% is pure fun with random unstoppable and unpredictable death.

I remember when I ranked my heavy-hitter 5* og cap marvel to r3 and brought him against the collector

I've played on and off for 7 years, whenever I felt was too hard I took a break and came back to finish the job.

Act 6.2 Itemless Grian Brant madness.
I was just chilling, farming revives in act 4.
Took 6+ months to explore 6.2, those damn class gates.

I spent like 2500 units and used a bunch of items from inventory to take down the 6.2 champion before it was nerfed . That block penetration was ridiculous.

Speaking of respect for veteran players , I’m surprised no one has mentioned that we just passed the 10 year anniversary when alliances started in MCoC

What’s even more crazy is that I’m almost positive a lot of that older content was tuned down as well

Not most of it but subsequential content was reduced in difficulty due to some hard content. Act 6 was nerfed 3 times. Acts 1-4 and maybe 5 have all had paths removed and the access to higher rarity champs at early stages has all but rendered that content useless. Most new players don't explore it.

Because of the difficulty of Act 6, acts 7-9 were tuned down completely.

Variant 1 was some of the most restrictive and hardest content we saw but many people couldn't handle it so they nerfed all the variants going forward.

The reasons why we have things like Epoch and what not is because they can't make regular content hard. There's so much complaining that happens if content is hard and the forums are flooded with "content isn't worth the rewards" etc... so we get things like the "of pain" series or Epoch. Optional content for those wanting to take on hard content but leaving options for others.
