They're added because Quests need to take a certain amount of Energy. Otherwise there would just be straight lines. Also, I have about 30 Refills and have to keep them from expiring. So I doubt they're draining any Units from that.

I still remember that titania EQ where people were upset of the map design using paths to create a boxing ring around titania. That was cool design in spite of the complaints from people who don't realize they would use the same energy regardless of how the map is designed

This is completely logical to get to 3 separate bosses. Energy is the last of our problems mcoc wise.they have given us an upgrade of 400% over the last 6 months in energy refills for free even.I have an alt I log into twice a week. Barely doing content TB for years. I currently have 17 full energy refills in it 18 small energy refills. From track and events like Calendar and other FREE BS.25/80 days is over 32% per extant of track alone.plenty of other free ones.thats playing half hour twice a week and im overstocked.dont get me started on revives and potions overflow for doing bare minimum.
My main has 37 energy refills large and 89 small energy refills. I play daily.no acts or monthly event only side quests and ally objects aq/war. These portals make sense because you can’t just have straight lines like in act 5 where it’s 15 energy of one path portal to portal to boss. I love seeing my energy wasted as I can never use it all 😂

2 paths in act 5 and one in act4 have an empty straight line of 2 paths 12 energy and the other 15 energy to get from one champ to the other champ(not boss only node mini before boss) in these 3 instances.Poor map design on those 3 paths specifically but it’s made up for in the 3 paths directly afterwards that have reduced energy and super small straight to the champ type paths with no portals to make up for those 3 “poor map design” paths. map designs. definitely recognized it and made up for it in the same chapter by reducing portals for the 3 direct paths after.If They were intentionally being diqs they wouldn’t have immediately reduced energy on those paths directly afterwards.they know what they are doing energy wise and make up for it in other paths in same chapter. It all evens out in the end

That one I didn't mind, but the original nameless guilly quest that was like 75 or 76 energy to finish a path drove me to distraction. As long as I can finish a path in an single energy refill I am good.
