Who's the better Defender, Onslaught or Dust?

In BGs (not war where you can bring whoever)

Dust isn't hard to fight but the odds of staying at 100% hp isnt as easy as Onslaught where you can both dex and punish his specials (you cant punish dusts sp1). Dust is also more tanky with her critical resistance.

However Onslaught has the most diabolical AI in the game so curious what people find easier to fight in BGs?

It is significantly easier to stay at 100% against Dust. Not being able to punish her SP1 isn't a big deal, though it is better to push her to an SP2. As long as you don't push her into sandstorm, there's not reason to lose any considerable amount of health. Onslaught just needs one slip to lose a lot of health, but will also chip away a bit with neurotoxins along the way.

Ive seen even skilled/celestial level players have the sandstorm triggered. The sig gives 1 sand debuff but you also get sand if you parry her medium, and you cant parry her light due to non contact.

The nonpunishable sp1 actually does come into consideration because if you try to go for an intercept to get your opening and you end up hitting her block, that can add another sand debuff

    Dust
I feel like dust needs more of a counter than Onslaught

Lag would low key make a great defensive mechanic lol.
Obviously not real phone lag but they could probably implement an effect like that in the game and introduce a marvel champ who's abilities involve hacking or something (i dunno, I don't r3ad comics).

Kinda like, once you get him to a certain threshold, he hits you with lag which does something blah blah blah *kabam magic* = 5/5 defender.

I view it this way: I can dex both of their SP1s fairly reliably, which is good since both of those specials fuel their other annoying mechanics. However, while I can't dex either of their SP2s reliably, pushing Dust to her SP2 isn't really a big deal. Even if you take it into your block, it's kinda whatever. However, Onslaught's SP2 has massive screw-you-over potential. Not only does the reverse control make sure that you'll run into the darn thing more often than not if you're not super careful, it also triggers a ton of degen on you if you haven't been really careful about managing the neurotoxins or really nail those reversed dexes.

As such, I just feel like Onslaught has more ways to screw you over than Dust. I also feel as if Dust's Sandstorm, while annoying, is ultimately more comparable to several stacks of neurotoxins than several stacks of degen. Overall, if I only could ban one of them, I would ban Onslaught.

Same but because I have r4 onslaught and I hate dust lag, without the lag she's easier than onslaught in every way.

Been practicing on pc so I can play her and fight her lag free.

Onslaught is the only defender apart from arcade that I see consistently parry people. Think about it as well, that ability is actually in arcades base kit onslaught is just devious with it . Even ignoring bad ai onslaught can mess you up in so many more ways
