Why the New 5 star Featured Crystal might NOT be the WORST THING ON EARTH.

Now... here's why.
Everyone likes to go straight to the negatives.
So let's run down(some of the reasons) why everyone hates the crystal so much.
- Six featured champs instead of one.
- Basics are trash
- Cash grab.
Now, here's why I think this isn't terrible. I am going to tackle all three. CAUTION: MATH AND GREAT WALL OF TEXT INCOMING!
"Six featured champs instead of one."
This one is easy... if the odds for one featured is 20% of 70/70 then that would be a 14/70 chance for featured.
This crystal has 24 champs INCLUDING the SIX featured. So... that is 6/24 or 1/4th chance to get a featured.
Now... the fact that it contains six featured is actually not terrible. After all... I see an increased chance to get a featured over what everyone else sees as just less of a chance to get a featured you want.
Now... if there is no "increased chance" or if there is a terrible chance for the original crystal, then obviously this crystal is better. If you are talking about a singular featured, then this crystal is not for that. Now, what about the basics? Well... if you know how to play MCOC well... you can use any 5 star champ through Act 4(I used Red Cyclops and Ant-man). I recon a good 96% of the people who don't like this change have a God-tier 5 star. Which brings me to reason #2...
"Basics are trash."
Well... like I said... if you know how to play well... you can use the crappiest champs for Act 4(and maybe Act 5). Obviously, a Blade makes everything easier... but what about progressing players? Wouldn't you think they would rather have that extra chance to get Void, MODOK, Taskmaster, or Hela... instead of an extra chance to get just one featured? And besides, if you open a featured for Void and you want to pull Stark Spidey instead... why not just open the Basic? And I get that it is a crystal for pulling a featured... but you are not guaranteed the champ either way.
"Cash grab."
Personally... I don't see it as that. 1/4th chance ladies and gentlemen. Plus... you can hardly buy 5 star shards at all. There is no uncollected crystal shard crystal... and it is not that common to see a 5 star offer.
How would I fix this?
Simple. Run two featured crystals at the same time. Run one for the original(like a crystal for just Killmonger) and run this. There... all problems solved. But, Blade has been added to Basic, so why waste shards on a single Killmonger crystal just to try to get Blade?

You are judging the crystal based on its current, or rather its announced contents, but that's only the first one. Even with the old featured crystal, not every crystal was worth saving for and opening. You'd just keep saving and waiting for a better one.
That's more problematic to do with the new featured, since its contents remain constant for much longer, but it is still the case that its value is not dependent on how the crystal itself works, but rather on its contents. We don't know what the crystal will look like in May or August. I would have preferred the crystal change more often than once every three months so players can actually *see* more iterations and better judge the crystal overall, but even if the first one's value is not great, that isn't a complete indictment of the new featured as a whole.
Exactly that's what a lot of people hate about it.
