Preset Mastery Builds (Not My Idea)

I'm just re-posting what @LeagueOfShadows said here as I feel that this is a perfect solution for this: https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/5606/separate-preset-mastery-builds#latest
As much as I appreciate the "free" cost to the mastery builds this week, having to go back in, recover the points & redistribute them 1 by 1 all over again for the different play modes is a bit time consuming. It also reminds me of why I barely do this, even with the reduced costs to change them when they're not free. Personally, I simply find it to be a little bit of an annoyance. Granted it only takes anywhere between 5-10 minutes, but still, I'd rather just press one button to change my build as opposed to having to go through the same old motions in its current setup. As an example to what I mean, this week I'm running 3 separate builds:
  • Arena: running suicides for obvious reasons
  • AQ: no suicides, max DW/assassin, max inequity & 2 points in resonate, along with the other basics in utility, defense, & offense
  • AW: no suicides, max DW/assassin, max inequity & 0 in resonate (due to willpower), along with the other basics in utility, defense, & offense

Why not just implement a system where we can just setup up different builds for each of the game modes so we don't have to keep going through this nonsense? I know someone will probably come in & say because implementing this would cost them money. No it won't. Here's an example, let's say hypothetically you want to switch from your AQ build to your Arena build, & that cost would be 75 units based on whatever changes you made, but then you want to switch to your AW build from the Arena one, & let's say that cost is now only 60 units this time, then just charge that. Either way, the costs will stay the same as they've always been, only now we don't have to go through the cumbersome task of redistributing the points 1 by 1.

Honestly Kabam, Netmarble, whoever is running the show now could just either
  1. charge you the difference in unit cost for each build, or
  2. charge a flat unit fee for each time you switch

Personally I'd like to see multiple builds setup, one for each of the following
  • Arena
  • AQ
  • AW defense placement
  • AW offense
  • Story Quests
  • Monthly Quests
  • Special Quests (Coulson's, Chloe's, Ming-Na, Bautista)
  • RoL
  • RtLoL
  • LoL

I love this idea. I think you could even make it simple and just add 2 or 3 buttons at the top of the mastery tree pages. Build 1 - Build 2 - Build 3. Then someone could set 3 different builds of their choice with a unit fee to switch builds. You could always edit any of the builds if you wanted to try something new or needed something different for a specific area of the game. Honestly, I think people would spend more units if it was super convenient to switch setups. I know that I would.

That's pretty much what I'm getting at @PeacockJazz, it would be so much more convenient if they would just implement this. This game has been out for almost 2.5 years, there's no reason why this shouldn't be implemented

This isn't the first time this has been suggested. I do not recall ever getting a response from the game team on it though.

I absolutely is a great idea... I hate the time it takes to swap masteries.

This is a fantastic idea, maybe this could be implemented using Bases, go in and switch a base and it gives you a different build. I'd also like to see grouping for arena teams. Would love to pre build teams and just run through the list from 1 down.

I'd rather have 3 different builds that you can use. You'll already have your first one obviously. Then you can unlock one or two more builds for 250 units each. Then you have to spend all units to unlock masteries in each build.

So let's say you have max assassin and deep wounds in build 1, when you unlock build 2 for 250 you have to buy more cores to unlock deep wounds and assassin in build 2, but of course build 1 stays the same. The same goes for build 3.

After you unlock it for the initial price of 250 units, it doesn't cost anything to switch builds. The main cost comes from unlocking the masteries for each build.

Why would you pay to unlock all the masteries again in a 2nd & 3rd build when you can just recover your points and re-arrange? It would be FAR less units just to re-cover and re-distribute. Your idea makes no sense to me, unless you actually want to give Kabam a bunch more money.

Fair point. Maybe it's like half price for the second build and a quarter price for the third. It's just for the ease of not having to reset all the time.

When do Defensive Masteries lock? I know it used to be as soon as you set the Defenders but I have heard that has changed now.
