Can no longer use champs in placement mode.

So in The past, you could use the champs in placement node in normal quests and stuff. Once attack phase starts, you can’t use them. Now, they’re unusable before attack phase even starts.

You are mistaken. You can most definitely use champs after they are placed on defense prior to attack phase starting.
