Was the Punishment enough?

the alliances who technically.... "cheated" are still up to get some amazing rewards.

how do you feel about this?
techinically if they match...they would face allaince similar to there war rating. and i dont think thats fair.

i feel like this is like a slap to the wrist...if they said they would taken matters like this seriously..and the allainces who got hit are still up for amazing rewards..even tho they cheated,

with these war season if they do not finish masters....they have enough for another R5 5* with the current rewards they are getting.

(thats.. 3 5* r5 heading into season 3)

Is it enough? If it removes what they earned with the 2* Wars, that negates the gains, and awards what they earned playing fairly.
As for a deterrent, we can't say if it's enough or not. Hopefully it helps.

Hope kabam does something about this.

Eh, lets move on to the new way these cheating alliances are still piloting. There may be more point deductions in store.

Whats a real shame is that the Alliance War seasons was created with the intent to show who the best alliance was. The reality of Alliance Wars is that it really just ended up showing us how many alliances cheat. Its pretty incredible what some people will go through to enhance the some virtual rewards.

the thing is cheaters are still gona get some good rewards, plat 1 is nothing to be ashamed of

AW Seasons has broken up a ton of alliances for different reasons and exponentially increased the competitive stress of MCOC. Cheaters being allowed to continue playing tells us $ comes before everything else. Glad Kabam acted on this, not glad that big spenders get preferential treatment.

I'm waiting to see if any additional punishment happens which needs to. If not then tge integrity of the contest has been compromised.
  • RiegelRiegel Member Posts: 1,088 ★★★★
Given that Kabam may only know about the one 2* war so far this punishment seems ok-ish for that, but hopefully Kabam can find out the same alliance is piloting still and offer more punishment for that.

If they're receiving the same actions as others found cheating, it's the opposite of preferential treatment.

Perhaps, but the existing punishments obviously haven’t stopped this from happening

    @GroundedWisdom
But no it is not enough.....
Negating the gains is not punishment...
    That is just removing benifit.....

Doing something bad knowing that if younget causght you nothing is not good enough. Needs to be punishment on top.

This would be like if you stole from the shop and your only punishment was to return the item.
You are going to try again and again later.

You will only stop trying when the potential loss is greater then the potentital benifit.
These punishments are no potential loss. Only no gain.

What are we suggesting? Public floggings after being followed by the Shame Nun from Game of Thrones? Lol.

A little joke, but realistically, there's a difference between wanting justice and wanting vengeance.

This is the first time this offense was punished and was in-line with all other forms of AW penalties. Best believe 2* wars are a thing of the past now as the risk is not worth the reward. Search manipulation rooms will probably exist still cause I'm not sure how Kabam can enforce that. As far as punishment being enough, this was just one war (that was identified by Kabam) that the alliances were found to collude. Those points were removed and those alliances lost a tier of rewards, which is very significant punishment. The other wars and efforts put into the season were legit (as far as Kabam knows) so it's a fair penalty. I just wish Kabam laid out these rules in the begininng of the season, but now everyone is mostly on the same page of what is allowed and not. I still think there were many more instances of 2* wars that occurred by alliances this season, but I don't know how far back Kabam looked at the history. I also wonder if they investigated ALL alliances on 2* wars or only the alliances with circulating screenshots to Kabam.

Not enough as a punishment and not enough as a deterrent. And I'm still not convinced kabam will have any due diligence in respect to monitoring alliances' past and future wars.

This particular issue was discovered because of a leaked screenshot. How often do you think this can be relied on? Kabam does nothing about cheaters until they're forced to. Every single time, it takes someone putting it in their face and not shutting up about it so that more people will notice and the crowd builds. It shouldn't take an act of congress to make them decide to look at what's happening in their game. I know literally nothing about it but I could easily imagine that once they checked the one war everyone was upset about... One genius probably got curious about other wars and that's what led to so many changes today. Why not check on a regular basis? Add an hour to whatever is done during maintenance and just run some scripts to find the red flags and act. Simple.

I think just taking away the win and points isn't enough, a 48 hour ban should be warranted.

it's ok for a first punishment, given kabam doing a proper work thoughout ALL their wars. That said, as @Riegel pointed out, there's many out there who found a way to outsmart the piloting controls. Hence Kabam should focus on try get those cheaters down.

Goes alone, a second infraction be it now or in season 3-4, should mean demotion or ban.

I just wish Kabam laid out these rules in the begininng of the season

That you are not supposed to collude with other alliances to maximize your points without having to compete for them directly? There are not enough electrons in the observable universe to write out all the rules necessary to prevent people who think that is acceptable from subverting the competition in the game.
  • ezmoneyezmoney Member Posts: 208
Its complete BS. They should get NOTHING. If you cheat you get DQ'd from the season. Kabam allowing them to receive any rewards is spitting in the face of legit alliances

Justice is a complete ban. People pay money to use items in this game. Cheating is akin to stealing from others and therefore the thieves should be banned for an entire season at minimum.

    Maybe a 7 day ban.....
Maybe only 50% of season rewards for whatever bracket they finish in.....

The punishment atm is they only lose shards.... and maybe a chance at master rewards....
Maybe they still get master.... if not they will still get sweet platinum rewards...
    Its not enough....

Something to remember is that this is only the beginning and we'll be looking for this more and more. That said, we'll be taking actions to ensure we can minimize any of this going forward, but we do not discuss actions taken on others.
