There's no guaranteed award time. Given all the crazy things going on this season, I wouldn't be surprised if season rewards were delayed somewhat if there are investigations going on. They won't want to hand out rewards then revoke them after the fact.

This.... I'd rather is take a little longer and them get it right. Giving rewards to cheats would be the worst.

So when does the season actually end? I know the timer says ~1d 8hrs from now, but does that mean it's a hard end, or does it allow any wars started before that timer?

A hard end meaning that at the conclusion of the timer, season is completely finished and any wars underway do not count?

    -OR-

A soft end allowing any wars started before the timer ends (i.e. up to 48 hours later)?

    Basically:
As it sits now my ally is in attack phase, so we will have enough time to start matchmaking before the timer ends. Would the points from that subsequent war be included even though it would be finished almost 2 days after the timer ends?

This all leads into the OP's question. If all wars started before the end of the timer are allowed to finish, rewards could be delayed ~48 days after the timer ends...

It’s literally impossible to have a war going after the timer ends. War matchmaking is disabled 2 days before the deadline, meaning anyone that started a war will have it finished by the deadline

It wasn’t an announcement, that’s just how wars work. You get 3 a week, and the matchmaking is disabled 2 days before the break day.

I guess I've never paid that close of attention before when it's shut down.

AW match making terminates 7PM pacific every Sunday, and starts up again on Wednesday. So the absolute last war of the week/cycle has to start its attack phase at 7PM Monday, and end 7PM Tuesday. At the moment the season ends, no attack phase can be occurring and no one can be in the middle of placement phase either.
