@Kabam Miike i was one of the people who was in the chat talking with you guys the night stuff went down. As i addressed then my main issue was the goldpool arena. I am in no way ok with the “solution” you guys came up with. I can not cancel work dates to grind arena for a champ that i could have grinded for that night the game was down. Please explan how this is a “fair” solution. I spent over 10,000 units to get that ticket. There was a set date to which i had a month to schedule work around. This is complete bs and not how you should be treating the player base. The night the game went down you said you cared about us and now this is how we get treated with the absolute minimum to make up for it. I know from being treated like this i will never spend a dime on this game again. Why should i if you guys show you could care less about us? Are you guys just trying to force players to quit so you can claim bankruptcy or something shady like that? Its really sad and pathetic how we get treated as players
I agree. I am most disappointed by getting a chance to rerun the goldpool arena (why couldn't they expand cutoff from 200 to 400?). I spent a lot more than 10,000 units to get a ticket, and only available weekend I had for grinding was disrupted by the downtime. I finished just outside top 300. Yes, I understand the downtime affected everyone for the same duration, but the hours of the disruption were my exact prime time for grinding, which I could not make up. Providing us another chance to rerun the arena is not a fair solution even if you lock out the 200 players who already received him. Seriously, why can't they expand the cutoff? Trying to make us waste an extra weekend?
They better not expend the cutoff. Since I lost my prime playing time I stopped, knowing I wouldn't get him without canceling real life plans. So I gave up. Knowing he only went for 15mil I could have gotten him, but I expected a higher cutoff.
I did not end up in top 400 because I didn't try to make up for the lost time. I hoped for a rerun, just like they've done in the past. Increasing cutoff doesn't change the fact that some people lost a lot of prime playing time while others didn't lose any grind time because they where sleeping.
I actually agree with you, and also threw in the towel knowing I lost 8hrs of prime grind time. However, it's unfair to rerun it as not everyone can just set aside weekends to run the exact same arena again. Some of us take time off work knowing we need the extra time to make a serious push. Plus, rerunning an arena means you sacrifice the opportunity to grind milestones, rewards, and possibly other champs in the other arenas. Expanding cuttoff or rerunning the arena are both unfair options.
I spent lots of units to get a ticket. It was a huge regret - the milestones weren't even great and ranked rewards were similar to free featured 5* arena. Plus, I gave up grinding for duping 5* Ant-Man, missed out on Gold Pool, and will be out of town when Gold Pool arena is rerun. Complete waste of resources and time. ****!
I don't think there is a fair solution. Rerunning arena seems the fairest in my opinion. I actually haven't looked at the new dates yet (I am a stay at home mom, I play during nap time and in the evenings so specific dates barely matter for me personally) but they should have picked a date far enough away that people could plan. I feel it would be fair to have a heads up the same length as the original arena had.
Apart from building a time machine and using it to prevent the outage, there's no fair option. Someone is getting screwed no matter what they do. Even if they give everyone a goldpool instead of a rerun of the arena, then the people working their butts of winning him will be sad/mad.
Anyone who just started playing won't get anything I think is what they mean. If you're account is more than a week old or whatever then you'll get it.
I dont really see how people that already got him would be mad if they gave him to everyone. They would get one too since they would have been in the arena as well. They would just luck out and dupe theirs and get some extra shards. I’m completely ok with that and everyone in the arena would be happy
It's important to remember a few things here. First, the first and foremost goal of these kinds of compensation are to make up for what you missed during the downtime. We want to make sure that all events affected had a resolution, and that any affected Summoner has the situation rectified for them. Compensation packages are not about "Free stuff". The only events that we can't measure how players were affected specifically were things like Event Quest, and Alliance Wars, which is why there are Energy Refills and 5-Star Shards in the package as well.
Secondly, I see a lot of people bringing up the last compensation package that went out. That one was a different situation where it was not possible for us to address every event that was affected because of the repeated downtimes during the month of March. That package was also for an entire month, and not a single night.
And Lastly, we're seeing some comments on other issues, such as problems with devices. This is completely unrelated, and something that we are still investigating.

@Kabam Miike While I never complain about compensation...I’ve been thinking about your comment. Most of what you say is fair except one comment “First, the first and foremost goal of these kinds of compensation are to make up for what you missed during the downtime”.
I think it’s important to point out the dictionary definition of compensation here:
“the act or state of compensating, as by rewarding someone for service or by making up for someone's loss, damage, or injury by giving the injured party an appropriate benefit”
It is not about just making up what people lost during the downtime but making up for the discontent, displeasure and frustration of your community.
It’s immaterial to me what compensation you give but it’s important to me how much this game that I love and give so much time to - how much it values me in return.
The compensations for alliance rewards are just poorly thought out imo. Just the one round isn't what is truly lost for many. Many lost the prestige bumps from misses on round one which in turn drops milestones off the table for the rest of AQ and also drops rank for many. Timezones affect this also for when you are affected.
I honestly don't care about getting the rewards back but seriously I don't understand how you could think about this for days and miss this fact(or choose to overlook this completely). It's just some map crystals and glory which shouldn't a huge deal to just add in the compensation.
I just don't understand why you would give bare min back here instead of given what more likely was actually lost too(glory + map crystals) which also wouldn't have a terrible impact on the game at all.
It’s no longer compensation for that one day...it’s now a series of problems and recurring issues...the repeated maintenance that’s been a regular feature the last few months, the big outage, the problems with v19.0, the delayed events and new peak milestones reward system...I hope Kabam takes a serious view of the ‘state of the game’ vs. just thinking about compensation for a single event in time.
There is no doubt that the game is popular and has a large and vibrant community. It’s also true that for many the game is part of each day in their lives. In this context Kabam can take two views:
(1) We can do whatever we want, people will probably just whine but still keep playing because they can’t do without the game.
(2) Lets do the best we can for our community and show equal commitment. Not only earn dollars but also respect.
Which Kabam chooses is their call but it is the difference between being one game company among thousands and being one of the top game companies among thousands.
We are an international alliance , the 30 min timers helped but wasn’t a solution. we are a top 200 AQ alliance and we placed 200+ spots lower because of the blackout.

That would mean they Grinded their butts off for a Champ that everyone was given anyway. That would likely not be fair. The Arena is a contest, after all.

Like GroundedWisdom said, it wouldn’t be fair to the people working hard.
Can you imagine spending 3 days grinding, even more crazy grinding after the outage to make up for all the lost time, probably more boosts and units to get to your goal and then everybody gets him? That pretty limited champ suddenly goes to a lot of members, even people that just went to the first milestone and then quit. In theory, even people entering the arena and not even doing a single fight would get the same reward you get after countless hours of grinding.
As far as I could tell, most people wanted him due to his exclusivity, which he wouldn’t really be if everybody that entered the arena got him.

The compensation is pretty terribly tbh. And definitely doesn’t take into account the full effect of the down time.
As others have noted, rerunning the arena and some shards doesn’t make up for the lost time in arenas, missed milestones, missed battlechips, missed units, and more. It’s not as though rerunning it will provide the opportunity for MORE of these items, to account for the lost time.
Additionally, no shards for the xforce event sucks.
After mike and adora sacrificed their night to talk to the community and handled that so well, I was optimistic we’d at least get compensation that reflects the lost opportunities for arena rewards and milestones. Extremely disappointed to see the company is so out of touch with their product and the customer base, and apparently fond of wasting their comms team’s time.
If a company wrongs you and you sue for damages if they want to settle then that COMPENSATION is a package that both parties find attractive. Typically it is based on ABOVE FAIR MARKET VALUE to COMPENSATE for the troubles. It may not be everything the wronged party wanted but it is at least something they can live with.
What they CANNOT do if they hope to RETAIN YOU AS A CUSTOMER is simply give you BELOW the bare minimum and demand you be happy with it.
In this instance the compensation that took weeks to even announce is a slap in the face to every customer.
Saying “you have to start all over because we screwed up” is in essence saying that you think that your players time, resources and efforts HAVE NO VALUE. In short you think YOUR CUSTOMERS have no value.
You want to offer a second chance? Great. But that doesn’t let you off the hook for the time and effort of your consumers you ROBBED them with already. That doesn’t excuse the repercussions of the fact that YOU SCREWED UP.
Blame the servers all you want but it is ultimately your responsibility that the servers function the instant you accepts real world money as part of an ongoing competitive game.
Try something novel for once. How about you actually SHOW your consumers that they matte by doing MORE than the below the bare minimum. It’s called going ABOVE AND BEYOND and showing us that you APPRECIATE our business and patronage.
Let’s not kid ourselves Kabam... it is VIRTUAL commodity you have. Are you so stingy and greedy that when YOU screw up you can’t throw your customers some sign that we matter when doing so DOES NOT HURT YOU?
Perhaps Kabam needs to realize the laws of attrition. The basic tenant is that the instant you AQUIRE a customer, you begin LOSING them. Any good business does everything in their power to RETAIN them. FTP mobile games have some of the highest attrition rates. The few that survive learn one thing... GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE ONLY WAY TO SURVIVE.
This so-called “compensation” package is not in any way good customer service. Period.

Latest addition to the list...AQ brackets are now messed up.
