How to search for a player with special symbols in their in-game name?

I want to look up a player who "abruptly" left our alliance. His name contained a greek letter. For some reason when I type the greek symbol into the search bar it doesn't show up and I can't find a player match. Any help would be appreciated.

I just want to have a "chat" with him. Thanks!

For the odd characters that aren't typically on your keyboard, I just type/find on Google, get the exact phrase I'm looking for, copy that from your browser and paste in the search in-game.
