I don’t know anything about him but he doesn’t seem too great when AI is playing him. How should I feel?

is that after Mephisto has listened to Marc Cohn????
"Then I'm walking in Memphisto
Walking with my feet ten feet off of Blade
Walking in Memphisto
But do I really feel the way I feel"
His raw damage is low but his overall damage is pretty good if you use him correctly. All about the aura of incineration. It’s a great 5* to have, congrats on that pull @Disgruntled_User_123
He has 3 immunities:
-Poison
-Incinerate
-Coldsnap/frostbite
This makes him a great counter to himself and iceman as well as poison nodes or people like abomination.
After each fight mephisto gains a soul charge, starting with 3 at the beginning of a quest. These can be consumed in 2 ways and he can have a maximum of 6 charges. One way is to use a sp1, this will consume 1 soul charge to put soul imprisonment on the opponent preventing them from gaining any more buffs until that duration expires. It’s passive and is automatically applied at the start of every fight without needing a soul to consume. These last for 15 seconds.
The other way is to drop to 30% health. At this point you become completely invulnerable to all damage and get a guaranteed heal depending on the number of souls you have. More souls means more healing. With 6 you should end up back at full health and the invincibility lasts until the healing stops. Should you get hit by a special 3 that would normally knock you out, mephisto will stop at 1% health and then trigger this healing, so it’s completely safe to take a sp3 if you need to. Still best to try and avoid it though.
Always begin the fight with a special 3. The first one you use drains up to 2 bars of the opponent’s power. If it does drain the 2 full bars you get a permanent aura of incineration. For the rest of the fight you will then have constant power gain on top of power gained from attacking/blocking etc. The aura can also deal damage over time to the opponent as long as you’re close to them. At this point you can stack the auras by using sp2 repeatedly, this gives a guaranteed temporary aura stacking damage over time but not increasing power gain. With 2 or more auras your damage should be quite good. It’s impor to note that aura of incineration is not a buff too, which means it cannot be nullified.
If you’ve healed in a fight and have no soul charges left, you can use your permanent power gain to repeatedly fire off sp1. This applies up to 3 incinerate debuffs on the opponent doing around 200 damage each at 5/50. So again, those combined with aura damage gives you a decent damage output.
All of the above can be done without being awakened. His sig allows him to trigger aura of incineration when being hit or when blocking attacks. The chance is increased with a well timed block. The second part of his sig makes him immune to passive ability accuracy reduction such as black widow for example. He will never fail a parry against her if he’s awakened.
Hope that helps you out, he is honestly a very good character to have, should certainly be useful to you as a 5*.
