They’re there for balance imo, I think If they removed it it would really turn into more of a p2w fiesta. If they were to do this I think they would increase the cost but that’s just what I think.
I wouldn't completely remove them, but maybe decrease their odds and increase the odds for 4* and 5*s....and I would LOVE for 6* rates to increase, but then I feel that it'll ruin the game.
I feel like if your able to make it to cavalier then you deserve better rewards because 3* champions will do nothing. if your cavalier then your focused on 5* and 6* champions and 3*'s should be removed from cav crystals.
With act 7, there is probably a new title, and new crystal like the cavalier and 7*, but in a while so probably 7.4. The new crystal would probably be 4-7* and at this point for players 4*a would be the new 3*.
The problem is there are two ways to get Cavalier Crystals:
Getting them as rewards for completing content
Buying them with units or money
Since these crystals are only available to Summoners that have achieved Cavalier status (correct me if I’m wrong), 3-stars have practically no value to us at that level. Getting CCs for rewards for difficult content and then opening practically all 3-stars is like Kabam saying “Sorry, no rewards for you.”
Current CC Drop Rates 6-star: 1% 5-star: 11% 4-star: 38% 3-star: 50%
50% is crazy in this circumstance.
If CCs were only available as rewards, then I would say to remove 3-stars and add their drop-rate percentage to 4-stars, but that brings up the second issue with CCs: you can also buy them. Removing 3-stars would then guarantee 4-stars, and spenders could then get tons of 5-star shards at the least. It would be too much.
So a possible way of addressing these issues is: Stop giving CCs as rewards: Instead of CCs, just give us regular crystals or shards that fit the difficulty of the content. Adjust the drop rates: Maybe change 3-stars to 30% and 4-stars to 58%, or maybe swap their percentages. Buying CCs currently feels like the 3-star drop rate is more like 80%, so an adjustment may help it seem better.
No, not really because that would literally break the balance of the game. There are many players who spend a fortune on these crystals buying like 100 of them. If they got that many 4 stars or 5 stars then they would gain 275/550 5 star shards and 500 6 star shards. It would make huge difference from players who dont spend and who spend. This would be very unequal and unjustified. Maybe we can see 3 stars removed from the crystals obtained from act 7 chapter 1 completion.
If you have the ability to access cavalier crystals you likely have a main team comprised of mostly 4* R5 and 5* r4, maybe a few 5* R5 and 6*s as well, so having a 3* at the stage of the game where you can access cavalier crystals is completely pointless. Therefore i support the suggestion of removing 3*s from cavalier crystals.
@UmbertoDelRio Do you think people who open 100's of cavs care about 3 star? It's people like us who grind for weeks and save up 1000 units and get all 3 cavs as 3 star are asking for atleast a 4 star for iso and gold. Common what's the issue here? Those who open 100 like Cowhale they have gold beyond 8 digits and iso beyond our reach!
I don’t understand how many still prefer to have 3* in a Cavalier crystal it’s obvious that Kabam has it set as a pay to play.
If I’m paying for something I want the best out of it not get ripped off by a conman at a casino. If you think this is not a cash grab your fooling yourself if you can’t pay then don’t play. You want 2*s and 3* then that’s what Premium Hero Crystals are for. If I’m cashing out $50 to $100 bucks or more a month on a bundle that’s my choice but not to get screwed over with a 3*.
Stop feeling bias/negative because YOU yourself can’t afford it; I work for a living and that’s how I choose to spend my funds not for you or hear you say that it’s unfair.
But most of us would prefer to get a little something back from Kabam because even free crystals don’t give you much incentives on a monthly basis even after saving for a 5* you’ll sometimes end up with a meme champion.
And if this game was also meant for kids why charge so much for hero crystals? And every time you open a champion crystal it’s a gamble you even get something good; gamble as in gambling. If this is what Kabam has it set up then this is definitely not a game for kids.
@Kopara7 - 100% agree with you on this and I’ve sent multiple tickets complaint to Kabam but it falls on deaf ears and an A.I that has stripper names of replies.
@UmbertoDelRio - 100% disagree on your point of view in fact; don’t even speak when your only concern is yourself and not the whole player base. There more players agreeing with Kopara so you do not speak for them.
And those 15 votes who disagree unbelievable that’s why we can’t get nice things. “These are the people always trying to ice skate uphill.”

ya i agree they shouldn't be removed. Kabam put them there to make sure you weren't opening up 6*s all the time. It sucks but u don't have to buy them. I think 5* rate should go up more
I have to completely agree and say yes to this. Once you get to Cavalier rank, 3*s and 4*s become useless. I can't remember the last time I used a 3* even in Arena, whereas 4*s are used just for the first 5 fights.
This would allow us, free to play players and minimal spenders, to continue to grow our 5* and 6* rosters. Without spending and grinding incessantly, it takes at least a few months to get a 6*, this could very well help, and maybe give the ability to gain at least 2 5*s per month.
Yes for sure, I see a lot of people talking about Balance with Free to play people. That's just stupid lol. If you pay actually money you should get something for it. When you get a 3* you feel like you got ripped off. At least a guaranteed 4* would mean shards. All the people saying no are Free to play. It should not be Balanced with FTP if you are paying money. That's how all games work lol. Should people pay hundreds of dollars on these expensive crystals and not get something to help you in the game..Really. Or everyone will just stop spending money and the game will die for everyone.
Could anyone on the yes-side provide some reasoning to their opinion on this? I fail to see how this makes sense when looking at the game as a whole.
If 3* champs where removed from cavalier crystals then simply buying a good/wide roster will be immensely easier. And for f2p players as well as for those that don't spend heavily grinding arena for units becomes an absolute nessacity when trying stay even semi-competitive.
Currently the worst you can get is 55/110 4* shards. With 3* champs removed this low end would be bumped up to 275/550 5* shards. That's an immense difference and considering the high end payout would turn cavalier crystals into the best in-game investment by far. Better than content, better than masteries, etc.
I suspect all of you only look at this from your own personal perspective, but in the grand scheme this is really shortsighted.
Cavalier crystals are a means to gamble on roster building. It should stay this way. Any improvement would bring them closer to being a nessecary investment across the bank and at that point this game would be broken.
Its already a pay to win fiesta, it would actually allow some peoples roster who can't purchase as much cavaliers as the whales can to catch up.
Here is another testament of how they change what they want to sell a few weeks back I did buy a bundle worth $50 bucks but they were 5 crystals also promoting a 3* drop rate at 40% to 50%.
Now no 3* but $50 bucks for only one more than likely not a 5* but will fall on a 4* due to the percentage it’s still uneven.
The pricing is the problem if you can sell a bundle for $50 bucks for 5 why should I pay $50 bucks for one and guarantee a 4* for $50 bucks that’s a rip-off.
I'm not a fan of the Cavalier crystal, itself. The cavalier crystal breached the flood, so p2w could directly pay to get the best champs and most resources. directly from bought units. no free to play player with a sound mind buys them. so this is one of the big reasons why the games disperses between P2W and F2P players.
Making the crystal better would accelerate this ... so i would be against your proposition. But im not happy with them right now as well ...
