Yo, it'll be a paradox. How can you be immune to something while having that thing? Like in shifting immunity won't the bleeds be purifies when the immunity shifts from poison to bleed
if you're thinking about a logical explanation, a woman sent by the devil back to earth with a death touch isn't more logical than someone being immune to a buff due to a certain mechanic. It makes sense she turns them immune to a certain buff for a period of time, if they're immune to it, they can't have it, its like shifting immunity but the bleed stays when it shift to bleed immunity

Simple to say that buff immunity acts not as a nullify because it removes the pre-existing buffs.

As a very avid user of BWCV I must weigh in and fully support @HI_guys

Basically for the people that didn’t bother to read her abilities everytime you see the immune text pop up- she gains a charge. If you parry a stun immune opponent you will gain a charge. Each charge gives her 4% of her max power so 80% in total

Medium and light attacks immediately nullify buffs this is the only way this happens, getting hit or hitting the opponent activates this ability

Buff immunity means the opponent is not able to generate buffs just like how a bleed immune can’t be bled.

Words are tricky but kabam says specific things for the sake of consistency and making it possible and logical for that ability to work in conjunction with other mechanics

Take havok for example there are two ways to get rid of plasma debuff and each result in differing outcomes. Everyone know of plasma detonate, that is when the debuff are simply removed And purification effects like tenacity. Each of them do different amounts of damage, in fact his sp3 evens states he purifies all plasma debuff instead of simply “removing them” meaning you deal the extra damage.
Another example is she hulk, she can also “remove” an active unstoppable effect from champions even thing.

Why do I bring this up? Well as a matter of a fact it’s crucial because as the op said she purifies pre existing effects once immunities go Into effects. Take a BWCV at 20 charges into a fight vs the champion boss And I learned this the hard way. If you activate buff immunity when he has 7 persistence charges no power, simply because there are no more charges to get therefore she does not nullify

I think the Purify vs Nullify distinction raised by previous posters is accurate.

For what its worth, I took BWCV into Abyss against the Cosmic champions, where the abyssal ability is Unstoppable every 30 seconds, unless a nullify/stagger occurs to reset the timer. When you have charges, you can nullify buffs (Eg. Power gain, Unstoppable, etc), and the unstoppable timer resets. When you use SP2, Buff Immunity is applied for 10 seconds. If the enemy has buffs at that time, they all get nullified and the unstoppable timer resets (I believe this to be the case, but don't remember this specifically). However, if there are no buffs, the Unstoppable timer continues unimpeded (I specifically remember this being the case, as it threw a wrinkle into the fight). Even if the defender processes a buff (Eg. Hyperion power gain) while Buff Immunity is active, it doesn't reset the Unstoppable timer (it does block the power gain).

So in essence, when Buff Immunity is active, any buffs that it prevents builds your charges, but isn't classified as a Nullify by the game. I am not sure how that matters in terms of the game programming, but it does seem like something that leads to trade offs in interactions (Eg. Being able to manage defender buffs when they have nullify protections).

    Buff immunity works like nullify.

But it doesn't ? Nullify and stagger has those prompts. Here only an immunity pops up
Buffs are not purified, debuffs are purified. Buffs are nullified/staggered/fate-sealed.

Buff immunity is preventing buffs by nullifying them. This explains why Angela's sig is affecting the buff immunity. In reality, it's just nullify.
Works like doesn’t carry any value. In these many effects do nearly similar thing with different wording. So if not claire's exact effect isn’t listed in that node she should be exempted.

@HI_guys I think you should copy your first post in this discussion and post in the "bugs and known issues" section
Seems like a really important subject matter, and it's more likely to get more attention from mods there.
