They have to first allow max rank for 6*s since they can only go to rank 3.... Then they can introduce 7*s if they want with them having like rank 1 or 2
They introduced 6* when we only had r4 5*. Didn't have max rank 5* until Act 5 finished.

If MCOC turns out to be dragon ball type game and keep launching higher star level without an limit, it is not worth to rank up anymore. The game already have one dimension to launch new champs in order to earn revenue, it is pretty unwise to launch any upper star level anymore imho.
So, pray tell, how would the game continue if there were higher star levels? You can only put so much health and attack on a 6* before its impossible to make that defender any stronger no matter what nodes you put on it. The only way to keep the game going forward with harder opponents is to increase star and rank levels. Which in turn gives you stronger attackers. Anyone that complains when higher star levels come out is really complaining just to complain. Kabam forced this style of progression the minute they decided that they wanted to use star levels and maxed them out at certain ranks/levels. It would require and entire overhaul of how the core game is run. Youd be better off asking for an actual mcoc2.
Was there this kind of hype behind the 6* before they were released?
Yep. They announced 6* about 6 months before they were released. And you could start collecting 6* shards on 5* dupes well before they were released, so a lot of people opened up a few 6* on the first day.
There has to be an END POINT to CHAMPS at some point (and frankly, 6* r3 should already be it). Those at the top will either continue to play anyways, still competing for top AW and AQ positions, earning new champs, and having new BossRush type of top level quests to keep them going. -or- some will not and choose to hang it up, but that will allow others to take their (spending) place knowing that now they will at least be able to compete at top level so will be more willing to spend to get there.
As it is, game is like an “Indy 500” car race, but as racers are approaching the final laps, the game keeps on adding more and more laps to the race so that you can never finish.
