Anyways, kabam already said his kit will remained the same as what we saw from the videos being displayed yesterday by many youtubers. The only thing kabam mentioned is they will lower the armor break reduction to 20% instead of 30%. They felt the 30% was a little bit too strong.
Imo he does too much, immunities, AAR, passive healblock, Access to an absurd amount of damage, lots of buffs (prowess and fury) and debuffs for disstrack, Heal reversal, ignore auto-block and miss, massive bleeds,built in safeguard etc. I'm all for the new magneto buff but I'd rather Kabam not back themselves in a corner with character designs like this and revert to stupid node combinations to combat it Either way looks like I'll finally be getting some use out of magneto
How about you wait until he’s been released into the live game before going off a few favourable matchups and a RoL run? Besides, heavy charging with tight time parameters is a great leveller to abilities that are awesome on paper with stun immune/limber/power gain match ups. It’s not like he’s suddenly going to become the best champion in the game
Too much heavy attack dependent. He will require high skill to play. Also outside of his big special attack damage. His basic attack has nothing!!! So, in situation if u can't use heavy attack or special attack. He dead there. Also safe guard and damage cape.
Honestly, they should have given Magneto the ability to control anything that contains metal. They should at least should have given him the reverse controls like how they did with Emma Frost. In the comics Magneto is a Omega level mutant and he is supposed to be OP AF. Like everyone stated above, it's not every match you would see him get that much prowess or bleed damage. He is still in beta and there will probably be more tweaks they will be adding to him.
He should be immune to reverse controls for sure. As should Juggs, Phoenix and SW (at minimum).
What? He's great against metals, but just above average against non-metals. His specials hit as hard as a 3 star Guardian with 100 force field charges, and there's many other big special attack damage dealers like Havok and Sunspot. Also, he's MAGNETO for God's sake! Why can't we ever get anything good! He's the X-Men's most iconic villain and you're complaining? Get out.
Also, his basic attacks are not really impressive, they're just average. So he will lose a lot of his value against damage caps or safeguard nodes.
My initial instinct was he’s perhaps slightly overpowered but we’ve only seen him showcased in ideal match-ups. Let’s wait and see what he’s like after release.
If he stays as is though I won’t be disappointed in the slightest.
the thing is, though, there are a lot of ideal matchups for him. any matchup where the opponent is metal (like 1/3-1/4 of all champs) and you can parry or not get one shot by using the unstoppable is a pretty ideal matchup
True - I’ve watched some more videos since my first comment and he looks more insane after each one.
His fury has been commented to be tuned down by Seatin after sp3. He has a specific play style will be interesting like collussus how well he does against stun immune. I think he will require a high skill level, and have difficulty against stun immune and the node where heavy attacks cannot be interrupted. Am I happy yes he makes a number of bad defenders in war easier.
I think people are overthinking the stun immune. With the ability to resist so much damage and the constant unstoppable, I dont think that will be an issue.
I think the buffed magneto is really great against metal champions, but I do believe there are more champions that should be buffed, like Phoenix, another omega level mutant, and Joe Fixit, a gamma monster. They should not be that bad in this game.
I get the argument but there’s no reason to tone him down. Whether it’s lore or in game, magneto should hit hard. This play style won’t work against any and all fights and down the road, we may see more hard counters to magneto.
Give us something to get excited about and stay excited about. If the community’s initial response is that they would really love to see such a Magneto, then go with it. Now if that it taken away and replaced by some unexciting weaker version, doesn’t that have a negative impact on some of the other promises that players could get excited about? Kabam should demonstrate how serious they are about some of the “too good to be true” things that they talked about. I mean, is he really going to hurt anything so long as he is not too hard on defense? He deals with what, 1/4 of all champs? It’s not game breaking.
Perhaps he is overpowered, but at the same time, magneto has spent years being one of, if not the worst mutant champion in the game, it’s about time he sits at the top where he belongs so I’m ok with the buff being a bit OP. From what I remember of the video the prowess are all buffs anyway? So plenty of nodes to counter.
Also, how long is he going to stay that way. Other champs will be buffed, and new champs will be better. He should start off at least on the high end so that he can settle in as good but not the best probably a year from now.

changing the armor break from 30-20 is not that major of a reduction.
