I keep making the same points in multiple threads so I’m just going to repost it.
I don’t think the shard amounts in particular are commensurate to the effort/resources involved and are a disincentive to players who (for whatever reason) only do the content once. I generally do full exploration for Uncollected and will attempt to do the same for Cavalier, but realistically not everyone has the time to commit to it. A member of my alliance has pointed out that someone who only completes the “easy path” for Uncollected (whether because of time constraints or because they’re not ready to explore) will now receive significantly less rewards than previously and will have their progression slowed as a result.
My main issue is the way completion feels hugely anti-climactic now. I can certainly understand the gut punch analogy used by the OP. It really did not feel great and I see that reaction all over the community. I really don’t understand why developers didn’t leave completion rewards (or at least the percentage of completion rewards) the same and instead spread exploration rewards across all the chapters.
The insanely good rewards for the side quest this month have made this less of an issue this month, but I really think it will come back up again every month.
