I was going to say the same thing as spidey funko. You have the same war rating so it’s completely fair. And you’ve got to realize you should have the advantage because you have a better average player rating than the other alliance
Just to be clear - you were running 1 or 2 BG (or even 3BG)?
If you were running 1 BG - then those guys with 14 members aren't even all participating. So it means that these guys are not even seriously running their AW to start with.
If you were running 2 BG/3BG - then it will mean that you are spreading to 1-2 ppl/BG to begin with.
Either scenario - how far do you expect to go with only 5 ppl in an Alliance.
Straight up should not be initiating a war with only 5 people and expecting to win. The goal is to fill up all active BGs, find more members and get realistic.
Sorry dude, they're rarely "fair". We're usually alternating between a stronger opponent and a weaker. Just do your best and hopefully it will smooth out. Good luck.
Same war rating buddy, this is on you for going into AW completely unprepared. What did you expect to happen?
A matchup against a beginner ally in our similar position?
🤦♂️ That is not how matchmaking works.
That's obvious but it’s how it should be. If you’re saying that matchmaking based SOLEY on an arbitrary war rating statistic is the best way to go then you’re part of the problem.
The war rating is the only statistic that matters as that’s built around your performance is AW. We fight lots of 50m alliances which is 70% bigger, that’s part of the territory. Should we only fight 32m alliances to get our rewards? Hold on while I win the Premiership but only play Brighton, West Ham, Newcastle and Villa because the rest are rated higher than me and I don’t think it would be fair...

(1) That matchup is actually a very good matchup (strength wise). (2) both of you “ARE” actually new alliances, you can see their Creation Date, they are even newer than you are. They just happened to fill up a few more spots a little faster than you. (3) only “false” compassion of strength is if looking at Total Alliance Rating (which obviously they are higher because they have MORE people than you. The actual individual-based Prestige (as well as Individual Member Rating) is fairly close (in fact REALLY close for 2 such low-end teams).
Unless you are really just asking that any teams with under 10 members should be matched up only against other teams with same less-than-10 members in their Ally.

I THINK this is what they had the biggest problem with. In which case that falls solely upon their decision to launch AW shorthanded. Reality speaking, there's probably not a whole lot of Alliances (if any for that matter) launching a single BG AW with 5 members. So this group is faced with a couple decisions.
A.) Deal with running shorthanded and expect to lose because there's likely no one else doing what they are.
Or
B.) Fill in 5 more slots and then run AW.
Not much else one can do here. Matchmaking matches based on war rating and that's that. Expecting Kabam to alter the system based on such a niche situation is a bit unrealistic. You'll also likely end up with lopsided matches in your favor once you have 10 players in. Just the nature of the situation. This Matchmaking system was built with the majority in mind. This situation doesn't represent the majority in CoC AW.
The matchup in general is very fair in fact but it take a lot of time because it's now only depend on the War Rating, not Overall nor Prestige rating. It's faire when you are pretty much set to your real War rating Average.
Agree @SiriusBreak . Although on attack, they will actually be able to clear the map with just 6 players (it's not 9 paths like it is in higher tiers). So then it's just a matter of maybe not being able to match the opponent's Diversity Points, since they may not have a full 10 people place defenders.

Like....this is a troll post, right? Are we getting trolled?
