What abilities are considered defensive and what abilities are considered offensive?

I think this is a fair question to be asked because some of us spend the resources to take up champions to 5/65 thinking that they would work in a way and then finding out they're not working for the specific reason they took them up for, Some players tried to explain this on behalf of kabam saying that defensive ability accuracy reduction is when an ability trigger when the defender is being attacked, and offensive ability accuracy is when the opponent is attacking into you? I need clarification because if this is the case then I have further questions to be asked, I don't need another summoner answering my question because dear summoner "You are not the game developer, and you have no idea how the logic of the game works unless you're an employee of Kabam, please keep your ideas for yourself" I've been playing this game for a very long while and I know what are the questions to be asked.

    Actually, there are more than just 2 kinds of Abilities in-game.

    Offensive Abilities occur while attacking the opponent, Defensive abilities occur when being attacked by the opponent. If an ability activates outside of those two spaces, then it is neither, such as Juggernaut's Unstoppable that triggers whenever you activate a special attack.

    OR, it can be either, like Magik's Limbo from her Signature ability. If you cross the threshold of a bar of Power while you're attacking the opponent, it can activate as an offensive ability, but if you cross the threshold of a bar of Power while being attacked, it can activate as a defensive ability.

    If this is the case then why is Ant-Man's glancing "Defensive abilities occur when being attacked by the opponent" occur when he's being attacked into when falcon activate his red-con which decrease ability accuracy by 100% "Falcon's attack passively reduces the opponent defensive ability accuracy by 100%"

    Glancing !> Concussion, when Ant-Man is concussed he never glances when concussion does reduce ability accuracy by 100%

    Well, some people are wired differently and require explanation which is absolutely within the parameters of their rights.

    A side thing, Mysterio is immune to ability accuracy modification, which shouldn't be affected by the glancing mechanism in the part where when he lands 2 med attacks he places Chemical Gas, when ant-man glances his second med he make him suffer the 100% ability reduction preventing him from placing it.

    Order of operations, glancing comes first. It is in affect prior to the DAAR of Falcon’s strikes but can also be disabled by AAR from abilities like concussion and neurotoxins.

    What about Mysterio chemical gas? he is immune to the ability accuracy reduction "His hit shouldn't crit and should be halved" but it should still apply the chemical gas

    It's the same situation with Archangel. The only AAR immune champs that "bypass" glancing are Longshot and old man Logan, while mysterio and Archangel suffer for God know what reason.

    Volotos pretty much nailed it but it clearly says falcon’s attacks are what reduces DAA. Even absent that description, for an ability to trigger defensively it needs to be the result of being hit/stuck and glancing is occurring prior.

    Kabam should bring a champ to the contest immune to glancing. Which means all hits are immune to the glancing mechanic from the opponent such as ant man, storm px, caiw, etc. Hopefully once mystiqur comes over, she will be that champ
