If you have no damage but decent utility you have something like ebony maw or king groot. If you have good damage but no utility you get someone like cull obsidian. I think I’d rather have someone like cull
lol pls ebony max isn’t the definition of utility. It’s just that his damage is so bad that’s all he has. Someone like Clair voyant or warlock is the definition of maximum utility.
A champ kinda needs a little of both to be good in the current meta.
Exactly. You can't be a top-tier champ in the game without dabbling in both, but it really depends on your preference of playstyle. I love damage output, but characters like Warlock are the embodiment of perfect rankups, who can get you damage if you need it, but provide you utility throughout.
Although, damage can actually be a piece of utility as well. For example, having enough damage to KO the opponent before the node or a certain mechanic comes to play.
Despite there being cases where you would want damage over utility and vice versa, a balance between the two is always welcome.
This shouldn't be a question. Of course you need a mix of both in today's meta, but a champ with tons of damage and barely any utility will get suck on paths in freakin Act 5.

Also big red numbers > big yellow numbers.
