My first 5* R5 - Archangel (duped) or Black Widow CV?

Hey all,

I finally got 2 r5 basics and wanted some input on which of these 2 champs I should rank up to R5. I've attached pics of my roster for reference.

    I would lean towards archangel because your first rank 5 should be someone you can use anywhere. Someone who just hits hard. Claire’s can go up later when you need her.

    I have 4 r5s. my first was BWCV, my 4th was archangel. They are both very good, and I would r5 both, but archangels damage and utility is insane, and he is very good for the boss rush.

    Thanks for the input guys.

    I play without DE or LC.

    I've had BWCV at r4 for a while now and currently have AA at r3 (I could easily bring him up to r4 and within a week r5).

    My typical roster looks like
    Hawkeye
    Namor sig 78
    BWCV
    Medusa
    Human Torch 4* r5 sig 70

    If I bring AA (sig 35) up he'll probably replace Namor or Hawkeye on my usually quest roster.

    Your first R5? I'd say BWCV any day then. AA is incredible but much more niche and works well enough at R4 for now. BWCV can work for a lot more and gains a lot more from the rank-up, both very important things for your first R5.

    Yeah I can relate to this statement. I don't run suicides and I just recently took up BWCV to r5. Her damage is a bit lacking imo without suicides but her utility outweighs that and taking her to r5 is a big boost. Crazy utility though. Rank up whoever you need for the content ahead. Can't go wrong with either one

    You’ve got some rank ups you need to do there. Go with Claire, she was one of my first rank 5s and is so good for so much content.

    Oh boi...memories...my 1st 5* max was claire...2nd was AA...u gonna need AA more...go for Claire next...she is very balanced champ(or the most balanced champ)...can take on almost all champs...don't go for namor or domino...they are overrated...especially Namor

    Claire was my third and AA was my 4th. I'd definitely had gone AA first if I could.

    Your first r5 should be the one you play the most.
    Both ok without any issue.

    Thank you all for your recommendations. However, I've run into a bit of a conundrum... I just opened a 5 star HitMonkey and... Apocalypse!

    I'm guessing the recommendation then changes to R5ing Apocalypse followed by Archangel. Thoughts?

    BWDO. Seeing your are at a lower progression level, Claire will benefit you far more. More health, more attack, triple immunity. AA is awesome, but claire benefits you far more.
