Miles vs. Venom

TC1TC1 Member Posts: 75
While playing against a Venom boss with unblockable sp2, Miles was not able to miss the attack and I got trashed. Now i am aware Venom passively counter all passive evades on spider-verse champs, but no where in Venoms kit or the nodes on Venom does it say about ability reduction for the fight. In fact, with the global node i am receiving additional ability accuracy.

Am i missing something?

How much health did you have? Venom gets true strike.

Post the rest of the nodes, but seems like some sort of bugged interaction with the klyntar buff

@Maratox That would make a lot more sense to be honest. i appreciate that response, thanks.

@gannicus0830 i agree that is a great ability, however true strike does not affect miss.

True, but they're two separate abilities. He gains true strike when the opponent's health hits 15%, but he can't miss or be evaded by spider-verse champions at all. With some exceptions, like his klyntar buff being nullified or a node granting the defender over 100% ability accuracy.

This is… almost entirely wrong. Venom can counter spiderverse evade but can’t counter miss at all. And he gains true strike when opponent is at 18% health not 15% health. And increased ability accuracy won’t allow spiderverse heroes to evade because the klyntar buff just completely ignores it. Not related to ability accuracy

It’s probably the fact that only the first hit is unblockable because it’s “enhanced special” node and not “unblockable specials” node. The rest of his SP2 can be blocked and therefore miles only has a guaranteed miss on the first hit.

It’s odd, because Spider-Gwen evades all of an enhanced special node, but Miles doesn’t miss all of it.

Might be how evade is coded. When evade procs, it causes chain evading. Miss probably just causes the one miss.

He sure can miss under normal circumstances, so you either had <18% hp, or it is some bug, or some unknown interaction

I don’t think that’s it, and you can test it with CGR’s sp1.

If CGR has only triggered a few judgements, the unblockable buff on his sp1 only lasts for the first hit. Meaning hit 1 is unblockable, but hits 2, 3 and 4 are normal hits.

If you take spider Gwen against him, she only evades the first hit which is unblockable but then she doesn’t chain evade the others.

What’s going on there is the same as for enhanced specials. First hit unblockable, but the rest aren’t. Spider Gwen evades all of enhanced specials, but not CGR sp1.

I think Gwen is coded different for enhanced special, but I don’t think it’s specific to evade, or she would evade all of CGR’s special too. I wish Kabam would comment on it, it would give Miles a nice boost, considering he’s basically the “Unblockable counter guy” and that’s it.
