Ok, so maybe I'm reading too much into this, but as I said earlier, the mail said that the riddle should help us start to get the code. Not get the complete code. So my theory is we get 8 clues/riddles for the 8 digits.
Then Miike was gracious enough to mention another clue coming later this week, so that's two clues in a week. An event lasts 4 weeks (I think) so that's 8 clues.

It's the last piece of the 6*. The 5* needs 5 pieces, the 6* needs 6.
You have at least a million people worldwide going nuts trying random combinations. Some of them taking educated guesses, checking update timelines, some of them putting birthdays and random days, so of them just spamming numbers and hoping for the best. I'm not at all surprised that we've got the code already. I'm just surprised no one foresaw this at Kabam. Was looking forward to some big braining.
