Guillotine Kabam John discussion

I'm glad that Kabam John came on to discuss the new Guillotine buff, and the overall disappointment with it, and I was expecting a lot of insight into why she was re-designed to what most people consider a nerf, and what's being done to make her more like she was but with actual kit buffs (like Nebula as a perfect example), but I was VERY disappointed at the outcome of that discussion thread.
In the end it came off as "we think the buff was great and might only look at adjusting her healing a little, but you guys got a great buff for your community vote". The overall response seemed very tone deaf and in the end I think Guillotine is just going to be a mediocre community voted champ buff and we should be happy with what we get the end...
Am I in the minority thinking this way about how their response came off?
I DO hope they do more of those sessions, because it's awesome to have an opportunity to discuss game elements with the dev team directly though.

I love kabam John and what he does but he messed up on this “buff” and he knows it. They’re just trying to stick it to the player base by not folding! They gave in with the hood buff and clearly regretted that lol
I do agree that a recurring lis recurring live stream even if it was on YouTube would it would be a big help across the board.
Just doesn't make sense not to use one of your greatest assests that is also free to them.
I don't really get the point of accepting and taking in Feedback on things like this, if the conclusion is just gonna be "Well the Team is happy with the outcome, so that's the end of that."
That kind of stonewall response makes Feedback Irrelevant, the point of taking in Feedback is to get the Outside Opinion and to see what the Players think. As well if the Majority of the Feedback is in agreement with something, like the Guilly Rework having Issues and in some cases Flat Nerfs, then that should be taken Very Seriously.
The Regen Change that's coming apparently is only because the Team thought it could use a Bump, there wasn't any mention of the Community's Overwhelmingly Negative Feedback on the Regen being considerably Worse than it's Original State meaning that Feedback didn't even matter either.
The most recent example would be Miles who looks like he was Specifically Made to be the perfect Starter Champion, but he has Solid Attack/Good Utility/OP Miss Ability.
Just give her some proper attention so she can be More Usable than her Original State (the main objective of these Reworks) for All Progression Levels instead of Just Early Game...
"Let us meet with you, to point out why you're all mostly wrong about your opinion on this re-work",
and more..
"Hey community, we're sorry we let you down, we thought we were onto something great but obviously we missed the mark. We're here to listen to how you think we can make this re-work better. We can't guarantee we'll use all the suggestions, but we're sure we'll be able to get some great ideas. SHOOT!"
I missed it, as it happened in the middle of my night. But no biggie: pretty much all my questions were asked, and all were resoundingly ignored.
As you say: the interview was pointless. No attempt was made to engage with any of the (copious) criticism of Guillotines "overhaul". If this was a PR exercise with the intention of satisfying the community, it was a car crash.
We've given them huge amounts of feedback, numerous suggestions, explained clearly about the many, many problems with new Guilly. They have all been ignored (That's 'heard' in corporate speak).
They clearly aren't going to change her. Personally I think the best any of us can hope for is RDTs; and that seems very unlikely either.
This is visible in many areas of the game, including the way forums are run where nothing bad is allowed to be spoken against anything in the game. So not a person problem, but a company problem. I wouldn't want to work at kabam at all!
Exactly what @BigManOnCampus said
You missed the whole point.
I expected some open round with the community about the buff of Guillotine. What I actually witnessed, was a firework of Prepared questions. I think Jon had a big word sheet full of “important” questions + answers which he simply copied and pasted in this thread one by one - then the thread was closed. It wasn’t a conversation with the community at all.
When this is the chosen way, kabam wants to communicate with us - good night
