I think the reaction here is way out of proportion. The person who's going to create an alt to grind out 3k units for 10 ggcs isn't someone who was going to spend $100 during gifting to get those same crystals. And it's really not practical for most people to do this more than one or two side accounts. And that's all assuming you're going to neglect your main accounts gifting score by choosing to grind units on alts over a lesser amount on your main. You get a few more ggcs and take away from your contribution to your ally. Maybe I'm wrong and there's tons of weirdos out there running account farms, but I really have my doubts about that.
I mean, is it against the rules...? No, it's not. If someone has the time and commitment to do such a thing and has nothing better to do with their lives, they can knock themselves out for all I care.
I have never played a single second on another account and the things I have to do in mine, never seem to end. But to each their own.
Now the community losing their minds over other people having the time and commitment to exploit the system and getting more rewards than them, it seems to me it's a "sour grapes" story. Not my problem, though.
@BrianGrant 's motivations for making that video is weird. Is it because he prides himself so much on being a die hard F2P player that's grinded and min/maxed this game to death that the thought of people getting stuff easier is completely unacceptable? I doubt most people are participating in the event for the top tier ranked rewards, most just want to get their own GGCs and have a great opening. They can't use the units they gain any other time of the year. SO you can either grind your life away in arena week after week to get units, gold, and all the newest champs, or grind a bunch of new accounts to be able to gift yourself a bunch of chances at prizes.
This whole "controversy" is very much alot of sour grapes in my opinion.

True, I like BG as he provides educational content about the game but the gifting event just comes once in a year, most people probably want GGCs and milestone rewards not rank rewards. I feel like making alts and gifting yourself is completely fine
It is absolutely a problem and should be stopped. Anyone who has tried creating a new account after the new update knows that you gain absolutely ridiculous amounts of units for very little time invested and no effort
Truly 1 of the most dumbest comments i have seen on forums . Looks like you are a big blue whale who is disappointed that F2Ps are getting unit much quicker now . Let me tell you , you still yave to play even if you create a new account . You get autoplay at level 19 so that means people still invest time in playing on new accounts.
Can't wait to see kabam let people do this then once gifting is done they'll be like this was not how the game was intended to be played. All who took advantage of this will be penalized with negative credits.
I think they should just make gifting require at least the cavalier title. No one is gonna exploit that. Because no one is gonna take THAT much time. Or remove it. IDC.
It does not need any solution. Grind if you want to. Don't if you don't want to. Don't say he will gain more than you. They are not taking from your pockets.
Everyone does not have the time to do the grind that BG suggests. Honestly I'm disappointed in him that he'd thrown around such absurd numbers without thinking about the bigger picture of how it'll affect people's thinking about the changes.

I would think making the gifting badge have uncollected title requirement would work. New accounts can get there quickly but no one is going to grind 10 new accounts to uncollected just for gifting crystals.

Problem with trying to lock this around progression level is that there are plenty players who (a) don't use the forms and (b) don't watch youtubers who aren't even aware of gifting much less "exploits". A player can reach level 25 & uncollecte din a week easy if they are veterans with time.
It's much wiser to limit the restriction to new accounts created since the act 1-3 revision (which is where all these "extra exploitable" units are coming from).
The people who would take advantage of this change (it's not an exploit really) would be players who have been playing on their main or other duplicate accounts before the changes that were implemented in the past week.
Of course the issue is that someone still suffers - the legitimately new players who after a month get introduced to this great event, but it makes more sense than punishing someone who may have started a new account in September adn is still not uncollected yet. People who are not high level still have restrictions like not being able to auto play or carry more than 3 or 4 champs in quests, so blocking gifting for accounts less than a month old seems in line with the kind of restrictions.
Not everyone plays this game like a job, as most forum users do.
So i suspect given there is no solution that doesn't hurt anyone, nothing will happen as reverting the acts to their previous form isn't on the table.

Have loads of units? But do they have the skill to punch their way through tough content?
Buy loads of crystals? 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Right, we all know how that ends.
What are you all scared of?
