İ have 6 years old account in game and i lost the mail address that i use to create that account, now I'm trying to changing it and Kabam asking me some questions so far it's very reasonable,if they change the mail address Everytime someone asking, then it will be very easy the stealing accounts but there is the tricky part Kabam asking about 5 questions and no other way to change it,while i lost my mail address completely how can i remember exact date of creating my account (yyyy/mm/dd)?I really understand it isn't easy but it must be have second way.Im able to give my accounts original name, tons of bills and credit card statements about my in game buyings over years but still I can't change it because I can't remember exact date about 6 years ago and there is literally no way to find out it.How can i feel comfortable while do spending if I don't have complete control of my account? So I think it's a huge problem it should have an alternative way to doing it.Even crypto wallets have an alternative ways I mean come on.

İts really a huge problem, because this game isn't an ordinary game for killing some time we are spending money and serious time on it,they really should find an alternative way @Kabam Miike @Kabam Zibiit @Kabam Porthos i already open a ticket about it in support but i hope you guys also can let the team be aware this problem

I had to resolve an issue with a alt account once a long while ago, and to be honest I couldn't answer the question "when did you create the account" either. I was able to give them a relatively narrow range of possibilities ("I'm pretty sure I started the account sometime around XXXXX but I'm not sure precisely on what day.") Support asked an additional verifying question ("where was the account created") and because I was able to answer that question, they accepted the rest of my answers.

I don't know if this is helpful or not, and I don't know if support has gotten stricter on account verification since then, but at least when I dealt with them there was some wiggle room around the answers. They did not need to be precise, as long as it seemed like I knew all the pertinent data but just not with absolute precision.

It is something I think Kabam should think about, so I'll see about jumping up and down and waving my hands a bit about it. But I will say this is not as simple as it might sound. Suppose you took a break from the game for a while and in the meantime someone broke into your account and started playing it. They might have bought some stuff. Now you come back and want to regain control. But the last six months or so of activity is actually something the hijacker knows and you ironically don't. If he could just show Kabam some recent receipts, his attempt to hijack your account would be permanent. I suspect that is why Kabam support focuses on origin information. The one thing you would know (or could know) but an attacker won't know and cannot replace or override is information about when the account was created and under what circumstances. Recent history can be controlled by an attacker. Ancient history cannot.

However, at some point it also becomes impractical for the account holder to know that information as well, so I think it is probably time to come up with a more intricate and thoughtful set of options for verifying account ownership. Something that isn't all or nothing and completely binary, where there are multiple ways to do it if one method doesn't work. Particularly when email addresses are involved, and aren't in many cases permanently held by the player.

Actually yes I give a break but my game untouched but my mail stolen and who knows if they won't sell my account while they have control of mail address, accounts made good money in my country I guess it's same in whole world,so I want be sure nothing gonna happen by changing my mail to something safe ,but like you said I could be a stealer so they must be sure but this way really is impractical I already can't reach my mail but they asking me checking my creating date from mail 😀

Are you on iOS? Can you deduce your start date from your game center achievements? I believe one of them is for collecting your first 2* champion, which is probably on or very near your start date (I'm assuming Android has something similar, but I don't play on Android).

Hey @CJ35, I understand it can be frustrating to be asked for information which you're not entirely sure how to obtain. However, the ways in which we verify account ownership are always being reviewed and updated to help make it as effortless as possible for players to confirm their ownership of an account while maintaining a suitable level of protection to prevent someone from making changes to an account which they didn't create.

You may be able to resolve this issue and verify your ownership of the account by continuing to work with our Support Team.

If you would like to share feedback about the account verification process or have any improvement suggestions, I recommend sharing them with our Support Team directly. You can get back in touch with them by clicking HERE.
