So i have a choice of r3ing one of them .

Ultron is ridiculous no doubt but Nimrod's been getting good amount of love as well so here i am confused which one would be a better rankup.

I have had ultron unduped as an R3 for a couple months now and I bring him everywhere, especially with an R3 warlock and R3 HB to pair up.

I just R3'd nimrod 2 weeks ago and he's fun (also unduped) - especially against Kitty Pride to keep her from going unblockabe by removing those prowess. However, in my setup, I still like Ultron with suicides and deep wounds maxed out more than NIMROD most of the time - maybe that will change when Nimrod is duped though since he'll ramp faster though.

It all depends - you can't go wrong with either. I just feel like Ultron finishes fights faster for non mutants and the degen on mutants is still killer. Plus, his regen is super nice and beefy. But Nimrod has plenty of damage and utility too - and both have regen and some power control to boot. Definitely a tough one - consider your masteries and synergy teams and go from there to prioritize. Eventually, they'll both get there, so who does the most for you right now?

Hotrod takes care of an entire class of champs as well as champs or nodes with regen and prowess.

He's amazing. Answers a lot of annoying things. Also shock immunity is less common that bleed immunity I think.

He's my current fav champ. And I have almost all of them.

Is either champ awakened? What sig level? What content are you currently working on/planning on getting to next? Do you use either with synergy partners/do you have any synergy partners for them already ranked up?

These are very different champions, despite both being robots. Ultron has a damage focus with some solid utility, Nimrod has a utility focus with some solid damage. There’s no wrong answer here, which is why I’m looking for that extra information. In general, I would give Nimrod the edge over Ultron specifically because he leans more to utility and so the extra rank goes farther with him.

As a little fun fact about Nimrod’s utility beyond the obvious, my r4 6* Nimrod ate an sp3 from the 7.4.5 Namor boss and only lost 10% health. Ten percent. From one of the harder hitting sp3s in the game. Nimrod’s a chonky boi.

I gave the vote (just) to ultron based on the fact he’s pretty consistent when fighting all classes (as long as they can bleed). You can’t go wrong with either though.

I also have a question of my own - is Nimrod worthy of a generic AG? I have a rank 3 unawakened. I’ve been toying with the idea of awakening him.

Honestly both, but I don’t have a 6* nimrod so I went with my favorite tech

I used a generic on mine, it dramatically increases his damage output and grants increased utility. Unblockable specials in Eradicator protocol is a very underrated piece of kit that’s helpful against tricky defenders like Modok in AW. I don’t regret having used it, but for most I could see it being a tough sell.

    I agree with @Wicket329

I think that Nimrod's reputation kind of suffers from him being so good against mutants that it can overshadow just how good he is against other opponents, too.

Easy access to long-standing armour buffs, critical Damage resistance, quasi-immunity to armour break, and Cowardice debuffs makes him amazingly tanky. He's got really impressive Passive Shock damage, which can be enhanced significantly when Awakening him. You'll need quite a few Sig stones to get the most of it, though.

Yeah, I was lucky(?) enough to have never had a tech champion worth sigging up until I pulled him. So I had something like 120 tech sig stones on hand ready to roll when the time came. It really is a night and day difference. I’d say unduped he’s still a mutant killer, but duped is what gives him the reach for other matchups.

Nimrod is the way to go, I think he can cover a lot more content than Ultron.

Don't get me wrong, Ultron is amazing, I really love my r3, but lately when I'm starting a quest or picking up an AW Attacker, i feel that nimrod is the better option.

I was making the exact same decision about 4 months back, and chose Nimrod and am quite happy I made that decision. Of course Ultron was my next tech rank up, but Nimrod is just so good at so many things. Don’t let folks tell you it is just mutants…

Thanks for the info! My options are either use it on him, or sit on it. I also have 98 6* sig stones in the overflow at the moment, so I’ll need to decide soon!

I used the generic from act 7 on him + took him to max sig. Zero doubts, zero regrets.

Ultron is good but I honestly think Nimgod is the second best tech option. Nowadays we need more specific counter champs and Nimgod definitely fits that role perfectly. Man’s a menace in AW.
