DPX Buff Miss - no guns, regen, or teleport?

The animations are funny but the slap mechanic is a horrible way to have to charge up for his “big damage”, especially with inputs still being a very big problem.
In the end he just hits things with swords and that’s it.
This fees like a missed opportunity for such a popular character, like if you gave wolverine claw attacks and no regen or rage (Wolvie X). Storm got such an insane buff. I had such high hopes for Deadpool.
And outside of his vicious buff, Fury does way more bleed damage way more consistently and has vastly more utility. DP’s bleeds cooldown is way too long if that’s his primary source of damage. Not to mention Fury’s synergy’s are incredible and DP some minor stat buffs with his new ones.
Please try again. Gamora got like 3 attempts and she’s way less popular than DP.

1.) Since the taunt can only reliably be applied on offence through a heavy attack (the reach of which is sub par to say the least) it totally takes the utility of Deadpool out of fights where you can't reliably stun the opponent or have a penalty for doing so like in the EOP fights.
2.) The damage is average. Without deep wounds and suicides, the damage is bang on average which is totally not a problem IF Deadpool had enough utility to support it.
3.) Bleed immune matchups. Absolutely garbage damage against bleed immune opponents. With more and more characters being bleed resistant or debuff shrugging or anything as such, this makes dpool a terrible option for those matchups.
All this combined with the fact that super slap charges would be incredibly difficult to build up against offensive opponents, and the payoff isn't nearly worth it
(Also the sp2 is fancy, very, but it serves absolutely no purpose. You can get 1, at the maximum 2 slap charges and it deals negligible damage)
I'd say with a few minor tweaks this would be an amazing buff.
Eg. To give him some other method of applying taunts. Intercepts maybe? A chance on basic attacks? Apply a taunt with duodenum poke? (It has a cooldown of 4 seconds so could work)
Give him some other form of damage in the sp2. Maybe prowess, maybe some other debuff (rupture, direct damage) anything.
His s2 is especially weak. It looks so cool and then you look at the health bars and buff areas and nothing happens. Throw some regen on that. Have him lick the gun or inhale the gun smoke too while I’m making a wish list. 🤣
Or put vicious on his s2 and then make his s3 way better with regen and power gain. I liked his s1.
And I completely agree with putting too much emphasis on his very bad heavy attack. It has almost no range. Plus it’s a slow charging alheavy so tough to do intercepts. And since the heavy is his main source of damage he’s basically useless against anyone that’s stun immune or debuff shrugs, not to mention all the bleed immune champs and debuff shruggers.
Kingpin, crossbones, agent venom, moleman, Elsa, ronin, and aegon can all debuff shrug or have tenacity. Deadpool is useless against these types too despite having class advantage.
His buff needs so much more or he’ll just continue to ride the bench.
I don't think he'd get much out of heavy chaining, though.
Anyway, I like his new animations - but that's sadly about it.
He feels like a weird awkward Skill champ (though, technically, he should be) with a Taunt mechanic... bleed, bleed...
Am I missing something with his updated kit?
i know i'll be using him more which is 100% more than what i used to LOL
Sparky literally outclasses Deadpool and he was made 5 years ago. Taunt, stun, power drain, evade specials, more damage.
This buff is about 5 and a half years late.
Sure the numbers or utility could have been a thing but again, that's not the intent of the buff in most cases. It's to first, make them more playable. And he is definitely more playable now at least to me ...if only for his animations lol he's more fun to play.
I don’t think the goal should be more playable. I think they should make people want to put him on their team instead of other champs.
The problem is the second part of your assessment feels more true than not, especially if the kit isn’t duped. I hunted around for a decent lane to actually test the kit and found one Do Not Go Gentle lane in 6.2.5, the one that starts with Hela. You can absolutely play the kit there, but man, NGL, it’s hard to find other lanes where you say, “Yeah, I am doing that with DPX.”
I am still testing, and I actually do like the buff. But it’s been challenging for me to find a place where people might feel good about using the kit, especially with input issues popping up sporadically.
I do like it, but that’s just being honest
X-23 - Bleed damage does more and has regen, has actually good synergies AND does well with the mutant synergies
Hyperion - Well he's always good
Voodoo - Can do more damage when built alittle and has multiple utility like regen, AAR, Power drain, power burn and poisons.
Red Hulk - Super high physical resist, mystic killer, passive damage that gets really good at 10 charges, poison and incinerate removal, regen, part of a great trinity synergy team.
Rogue - 70% debuff duration, Regen, Power Steal, Buff steal
DPX 2022 - Ok Bleed, Taunt, Power gain IF awakened, not so good synergies and doesn't really gain much from mutants like Prof X or being a horseman, heavy reliant champ with a garbage heavy range, annoying skipping mechanic that won't work vs many different Nodes, Abilities, AI, etc.
How does that work? How is a 2022 champ worse than ones SIX years before?
He has a color suppressing his mutant abilities
He is better than before but still almost useless except for someone who is still doing Acts 1-2 or 3
However he is probably much more annoying on defense now bcoz he's 100% more likely to use Sp2, which seems like a nightmare to dex perfectly
They have the champ rework program for new champs and like 5-6 buff that seem sub par. I get Storm does a lot of damage, but she did decent damage before and doesn't have anything interesting going for her that would make me rank her up.
